" If you never try ,you'll never know"

"Hey, what are you watching?".

"Oh hey ,it's this new anime that just came out, it's about the fate of a number of alternate universes that have somehow collided into each other ".

The afore conversation really ended the movement ,the 2nd party uttered the word anime. In today's society informing someone that you watch anime is the equivalent of proclaiming immaturity. People have made it a point to give anime the unpleasant connotation of being immature . Some have even gone to the lengths of affixing connotations of  idiocy to it as well.

But in reality anime has so much more to offer than one could possibly imagine. The very conversation used to demonstrate the current attitude towards anime is a testament to that. But most people decide to conveniently ignore the complicated storyline that it offers and just jump straight to thinking that it's terrible because its animated .
There's a number of reasons as to why you should watch anime but it's simply not possible to fit such ginormous content into a brief article and hence given below are a few compelling reasons as to why you should be watching anime.

The Visuals Are Mind-Blowing

Anime has some of the best visuals that you will ever see and at the risk of sounding hyperbolic ,let me tell you that they are actually getting better every day. The way objects and scenes are portrayed in anime is absolutely amazing ,and the perception is no less real than when you watch a Hollywood movie or English series.
And more often than not ,anime visuals are way better than their real life counterparts.  Besides the characters are much more gorgeous and ravishing to look at compared to their human counterparts , but that should come as no surprise given that anime has high standards for their art and character designs  .

The Larger-Than-Life Characters And Badass Villains

Anime has some of the most unique characters that you will ever set your eyes upon. The cultural difference and usually frivolous and yet serious  ambience gives birth to so many novel characters with adorable quirks. But the best part is that bubbly and cute characters aren't the only things that anime has.
Anime has brought into existence some of history's most nefarious antagonists. These people are so inherently evil that they'd beat joker in a competition of malicious intent on almost any day of the year. So if you're into cold-blooded ,ruthless villains then I'm quite sure that you'd fall in love with anime right away.

The Japanese Culture And Language

Watching anime comes with the additional benefit of learning a new culture and at times a new language ( most long term viewers pick up at least conversational proficiency in the language).
And unlike English ,Japanese has a more emotional feel to it as well , meaning you get to cry more, shout more and fangirl more .

A Gargantuan Amount Of Genres To Choose From
Anime offers a myriad of genres to choose from for people of all ages and kinds. And yes anime has genres specific to kids as well ,which is often mistakenly put up as a representation of anime per se . But reality is anything but that.
Since anime doesn't have the same obstacles and limitations that normal movies have anime dabbles in concepts that are far more complicated and abstruse than most of us could ever fathom. This also lays the underpinning for some amazing action scenes that are made possible only because of their tricky premises.

Spectacular Soundtracks

Anime also has some of the most magnificent soundtracks and bgms that you will ever hear . Anime is a chest chockfull of undiscovered treasure waiting to be opened for people who love exotic music and enjoy digging up new ones from obscure places.

Extraordinary Plots

The eternal complaint of a movie/serial buff is that there is never a good enough plot for them and if they ever do find their golden story ,they spend the rest of their lives searching for something similar. But that's never the case with anime buffs. Anime lovers have a number of similar shows to pick from on any given day

Conclusion

Most people never give anime a chance simply because they are worried about the way that the rest of the world will look at them. The social stigma associated with it is completely baseless and unjustified . Anime is really good source of entertainment available to anyone and everyone . And it is absolutely ridiculous for anyone to skip out on such a great form of entertainment ,especially since its all free( oh yes you definitely don't have to pay for it folks ).
