Student Leader Interview - Shubham Kinger from P.G.D.A.V. College

1. Tell us more about your role and responsibilities at your college.

I am the vice president of commerce association, marketing and the corporate relation head of finance club and co-sponsorship head of cultural society of P.G.D.A.V. College evening, Delhi university for the academic year 19-20,as far as my roles and responsibilities are concerned, I am responsible for overall management of our annual fest, sponsorships, discussions about the events, etc.


2. How can we encourage more young students such as yourself to take up leadership role? 

So in my society meeting also I told my juniors that you should become post holders because it help in your overall development, boost up your morale and it prepares yourself for your upcoming corporate life. And last not least that fame and attention which these post gives you. See frankly speaking the life of post holders are not so easy as they look like, they have to do best for their societies but at the same time they have to focus on their carrier. I myself was pursuing C.M.A. as well as a post holder in 3-3 societies. Also I tell them my story of becoming the vice president. Never limit yourself. Always do things which challenge you because the things challenge you are the things which change you .


3. What have been your biggest challenges and learning from what you do? 
Biggest problem was to handle juniors to come timely for meeting as well to get work from them and convincing our principal sir for funds, timings and dates for the fest, getting sponsers and learning was to manage the overall crowd, working in pressure and to be responsible for everything, always be positive. I always remember our last day preparations, that fun with my fellow mates.


4. What are your career goals and how is what you are doing is going to help you with that? 

I want to be a cost and management accountant for which I have cleared intermediate exams in Dec 2020 with my college exams, from the role of vice president I got to a learn a few things like dedication towards our work, working continuously towards our goal, don't lose hope even in worst time and last believe in. I have learnt a lot about how to deal with the people and how to get the work done and the thing which I like the most was to manage the people and I am sure the things which I have learned through the post of vice president will surely helps me in my career


5. What's your message to encourage students to do internships and attend conferences?

I want to tell them that go and do as much as internships you can do because it helps you in exploring and learning new things, understanding people, also it help you in understanding yourself that what exactly you want to do in your life. I myself has done six internships But at the same time I want to tell them before joining any internship one should enquire about it otherwise it will be a waste of time.
