1. Tell us more about your background and journey.
I was a ramp model in my teens, only to give it all up for an early marriage at the age of 21 as I was madly in love. Had kids early and while I was at home bringing them up I took to painting and held exhibitions portraying the same. When my kids grew a little bigger and I felt I could step out for longer hours from home I became a voice artist; much later due to separation from my husband I decided to do what I used to do behind the mike (acting) in front of the camera, and thus became an actor.
2. Did you ever think or dream of being an actor?
I never dreamt of getting into the field of acting. Situations in life got me here and of course am very happy being where I am today.
3. How can one approach their career and have the confidence and belief to become an actor?
Believe in yourself first and do whatever is necessary to try and get your homework towards this craft right, then the rest you learn on the job and grow; I always say this is a place where “you get paid to learn”.
4. If not this, what would you be doing?
If not acting, I would have been a Painter.
5. For a complete outsider with inroads, what advice would you like to give?
Learn by watching, observing, preparing yourself through acting workshops, diction training, etc before taking the plunge.
6. What is your mantra of success?
Hard work and Perseverance
7. Which is your favorite book and why?
The secret, because I totally believe in every word written in it, applied to my life and see.
