1. Tell us about your background and journey.
I am from Palampur, Himachal Pradesh. I studied in a boarding school partly in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. After 12th I decided to attend a college in Mumbai for graduation.
In my first year of college, I used to accompany my friends to their auditions for fun. One day I was just sitting, waiting for my friend and suddenly I hear someone call my name and say "Why don't you audition for the part?", I replied "No, I'm not an actor"
He asked me to give it a try and I did. It did not go well. After a while, I got a small part in a show. I was very excited, and nervous at the same time but it was at that moment I realized that I wanted to pursue a career in acting.
2. Did you ever think you'd be doing TV shows at any point of your life ?
To be honest, I had absolutely no idea. I decided to go for it after my first show when the director came up to me and said -
"I wasn't expecting such a good performance from you. You will do good bacha".
3. How can one approach their career and have the confidence and belief to make it on a TV show?
There are different ways. The right way is to first prepare yourself physically, mentally and most importantly acting wise so you can go for auditions. It is also about not losing hope because it usually takes a lot more than just one audition to get noticed.
So be positive and keep trying. Auditions are the only way to get into TV shows. So you have to give it your best. Have the same energy every time and one day you will get it.
4. If not this, what would you be doing?
I'd either be a journalist or a singer. I was actually training for it but then due to medical reasons I couldn't pursue it.
5. For a complete outsider with inroads, what advice would you like to give?
I am not going to sugar coat this but it takes a lot of effort. You have to continuously believe in yourself and not give up. Their will be days when you just want to pack things and go back, on those days you must think of all the reasons why you started in the first place.
This Industry challenges you in ways that will make you stronger than ever, so don't give up. Winners don't quit .
6. What is your mantra of success?
Stay positive and be calm. Keep moving forward. Turn a deaf ear towards those who try to bring you down.
7. Which is your favorite book and why?
Laws of the spirit world is my favorite book of all time. Whenever I am upset I pick this book up and start reading from a random page. I always get the perfect solution for the situation I'm facing.
