An Actor Should Be A Great Observer - Raju Jeyamohan (Actor)

 

 An outsider can flourish well in film industry because they have a great immunity as they come from a low background and also they tend to get many experiences. 

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I hail from Tirunelveli located in South India. The only one entertainment factor in that place is watching movies. So, I can tell my background as an admirer towards films. 

I am from a middle class background and speaking about my journey, normally whenever we go out we tend to find many tolets. Likewise, I searched and attended many auditions and I got the opportunity to interact with many new faces and that drived me to a higher place.

First, I portrayed a supporting character in Vijay tv serial and with that I got a chance of becoming a script writer and I'm still pursuing my career as a script writer. At last, I would say that the people whom I met during my lifetime helped me in reaching my desired destination.

2. Do you think it is difficult for an outsider to make it big in this industry?

Definitely not, because most of the actors in this industry was a complete outsider before entering into it. Moreover, I would say that an outsider can flourish well because they have a great immunity as they come from a low background and also they tend to get many experiences. 

In the case of an insider, they are not exposed to new experiences and they would be in a nutshell since they get into the industry by their influencers but it is not the same for an outsider.

A live example for all of us is our famous comedian Vadivelu who is a complete outsider and he is the one who created a revolution in the comedian history.

So, I would say that Outsiders have a great opportunity in this industry but one thing is that they should never give up and continue to work hard.

3. What do you think is the most important quality that an actor should possess?

According to me, an actor should be a good observer. They should be able to reflect whatever they observe. On the other hand, they should be physically and mentally fit because they are absolutely essential as health is always first behind anything.

4. If not an actor, what else would you be doing?

Well, it is a basic question asked in most of the interviews. If I wasn't an actor, I would be trying to become an actor I suppose.

5. Do you believe that an actor should be a great observer to emote on screen and why?

Yes. As I previously mentioned, an actor should be a great observer because in film industry many things cannot be explained rather it should be observed. So, Observation is a tool for any actor who wishes to pursue their career in the cinema industry.
