We always hear things like "put your past behind and focus on the future", but what if the future we're walking to and working for is not the brightest one? A change is a constant demand in any person's life because if not for those changes we most probably would not have been able to see the results.
However, a change is a change but this doesn't mean all changes are walking us through the best roads of life. Some of them are highly consuming our energy that we no longer have any energy left. The change humanity has taken from the simple agricultural life towards the modern more sophisticated one, had its bad effects that we could list as follow.
1. Parenthood Problems
One of the most common problems is the broken relationship between parents and their children. Simply because they are not able to spend more time with them, as they are required to meet deadlines and keep up with their busy work-life so much that they can no longer give time to their kids.
This ultimately shatters the bridge between the both of them and slowly could cause a family to break off, or deal with on-going problems that could be hard to solve as kids grow older and form their own way of thinking that could not necessarily agree with their parents' mindsets.
2. More Mental Health-Related Topics
You must have guessed it by now, but mental health-related topics are becoming the new common of this era. And despite the continuous efforts to raise awareness about it, we only seem to notice more depressed people now than ever. It could be that with the efforts of media that such topics are becoming widespread compared with the old times when people didn't believe in such things out of shame culture and ignorance.
But couldn't it be also that this never-ending highlight on this topic is making people freak out about more than they are supposed to? After all, humans are easily manipulated and played!
3. Workaholics
Obviously addiction is not restricted to drugs and things as it includes habits too. And one commonly noticed one at the time is the increasing number of what we call "workaholics". Those people are willing to spend their day and night working non-stop just so they could achieve some basic things in life that used to be easier to achieve before.
This modern revolution in lifestyle is pushing people to work hard not because they have to, but because they want to keep up with the privileged life they could get once they're able to achieve more. And more couldn't be achieved for them unless you do and give up more things in life.
4. Rapid Changes
The world we live in today is witnessing many rapid changes; that it's becoming hard for human beings to keep up. Especially not when they could easily be replaced by robots. Technology sure made life easier but for the worse made it harder to go on with the basic skills you have.
No matter how much you learn there are always updates and upgrades that you're forced to learn about. This ultimately pushes people to think of what's next rather than enjoying the moment, and that's huge!
5. Climate Change
Seasons of the year are no longer the same, and bizarre disasters are taking over the world. Increasing heat. Floods, sudden fire breakouts, earthquakes, and the list goes on! Mother Nature is sure not happy with the modern life we're walking to at the cost of nature and wildlife.
So many animals are becoming endangered and some already have. We're losing more than the estimates and sadly this is not stopping the human greed from going until there is no more Earth to live on, perhaps.
All in all, taking a step forward is not entirely bad. However, if you lose your way on the road to success just because you're blinded by greed and materialistic life you may start to notice wonders happening before your eyes. Too much of anything is never a good plan, that's why we should start living, thinking, and behaving moderately so that our time on this planet does not go to waste. If you're intrigued to learn even more check those more negative effects out.
