Out of sheer passion for my Instagram page, I was always creating fashion and lifestyle content with no aim to making it a career. It is only when collaborations started coming through that I professionally started creating more content, which was around 2017.
1. Tell us about your background and journey.
I belong to Kathmandu, Nepal. I grew up there till the age of 10 and went straight to boarding school for 7 years in Rajasthan. Post schooling, I really wanted to work in Mumbai – The City of Dreams and hence I did my college from Mumbai after which I decided to stay on and work.
I started off working as a fashion trainee in Vogue India for 3 months and set off my career as a fashion & celebrity stylist for three years. Being active on Instagram with my page growing, I started getting collaborations and have fully switched to being a Digital Content Creator as a Fashion & Lifestyle blogger. For now, I have been in Mumbai for over 8 years and this is my new home now.
2. When did you first decide that you wanted to create content and how did you start?
Out of sheer passion for my Instagram page, I was always creating fashion and lifestyle content with no aim to making it a career. It is only when collaborations started coming through that I professionally started creating more content, which was around 2017. Being a source of income encouraged me to make more content.
3. Who is your favorite creator and why?
I never have favorites. But I absolutely enjoy the posts of fashion pages such as @pauseshots, @hypebeaststyle and @highsnobietystyle to be updated about some of the latest and great looks.
4. How and where do you find inspiration to churn out content?
Pinterest and Instagram are my two mains sources for inspiration. The explore section of Instagram particularly is where I spend the most amount of time checking out some cool fashion creators. The variety of posts you come across is overwhelming, but very inspiring at the same time.
4. Which is your favorite book and why?
Godfather by Mario Puzo is hands down my favorite book. The way the author explains every scene and setting in detail gets you completely engrossed. Each and every character was so well thought of and had a long-lasting impact on me.
5. What piece of advice would you like to give to future and aspiring creators?
Keep creating and believe in yourself. These are the two things that kept me going. Hustle your way into this field and the rewards will be fruitful. Also, find ways to stay inspired and keep up to date with all the fashion pages and latest trends. It is amazing how you can adapt to your preferred trends and transform it in your own style.
