A self-loving extrovert aware of when to compose. Firm believer of positivity, perseverance; taking life one day at a time with a lot of clumsiness because I’m a natural. A Digital marketing professional turned content creator manifesting her dreams that are bigger than her imagination. I laugh for 5 minutes before telling a joke, talk to animals, make sure to meditate everyday and have at least one meal with my parents in a day. Be the spotlight!
1. Tell us about your background and journey.
From a science student in school to a media student in college, I have never hesitated to experiment. Studying mass communication helped me learn a lot about what I do today, technicalities of lighting, composition and colors and, of course my interest towards it helped too. I was a digital marketing professional for one year when I started pursuing content creation alongside in May 2020. I’m a super extrovert in person but was somehow always shy to step on the social media culture. It took me a pandemic to realize that, haha. Staying at home, experimenting and believing helped me step onto this journey.
2. When did you first decide that you wanted to create content and how did you start?
It’s a funny story. My last job got a tad bit overwhelming for me. Hence, to distract myself from all the work load and stress, I started clicking pictures at home with my phone. No help, no assistance; I would utilize even a 15 minute meeting break, rush up to my terrace and shoot. Since I was really passionate about doing this, I never really cared about the outcome. That’s exactly how it started, people starting liking my work and I started doing more of it. You won’t know it until you do it.
3.Who is your favorite creator and why?
As honest as I could get, mai apni favorite hoon! I’ve been a known self obsessive person amongst my friends, often called a narcissist as well. But I won’t deny the fact that I do have eyes on other creators as well. Ziquian Liu, one of the finest creators I’ve seen, I look up to her a lot. Rest, my vision is to work towards becoming a better version of me every day.
4.How and where do you find inspiration to churn out content?
This is interesting, I started taking inspiration for shooting from household items - mirror, glass of water, fruits, foil, umbrella, cotton, bangles and so many more. I spend a lot of time on research; hunting props at home to brainstorming how to create around them. I write everything - new ideas, props, colors, backdrops. Pinterest has been a great platform to help me through this, rest, I use my imagination.
5.Which is your favorite book and why?
I’m not much of a reader but I’m a big believer of “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne. I’ve read the entire serious, Secret: The Power is my favorite. The series talks about the law of attraction and how you can manifest your dreams. It speaks of real life experiences of people achieving good in life by changing the way they see things, more positively. I just relate to the book way to much as I’m really affirmative towards things in life, especially the lows. My mom teaches me to think of the highs at the time of lows and take them sportingly. This book just helps you think about a certain thing...in a certain positive way.
6.What piece of advice would you like to give to future and aspiring creators?
Do your thing, for people are gonna criticize you (or appreciate you) regardless. I was one person who’d think 10 times before posting a story in front of a 1000 followers but here I am now. I create the most unusual content and I have had my own friends telling me that they find it super weird. Nothing stopped me from doing my thing, for real. Remember, there’s always going to be someone better than you, never discourage yourself because of that. There are going to be days where you feel laggard, unproductive and low; that’s fine, take a day off and relax your mind. Consistency, dedication and loyalty towards your passion is really important, but it’s also super important to give yourself a break when things get overwhelming.
Grow in your Lane, at your own frequency.
