A year back while returning from a leisure trip with friends, seeing my interest to travel and immense love for trying new cuisines, a good friend, who is a well know travel blogger motivated me to share my experience on social media platforms

Tell us about your background and journey.

I am Priyanka, aka "Bhukkad Ghumakkad Official", a native of Noida, Uttar Pradesh. I come from a Delhi based Punjabi family.

An engineering graduate by education, sourcing & procurement manager by profession, amateur photographer and home cook, big time foodie and travel enthusiast by passion. I have always been really passionate about exploring different cuisines, and dine in places, creative with food presentation, and experimenting with different food ingredients.

A year back while returning from a leisure trip with friends, seeing my interest to travel and immense love for trying new cuisines, a good friend, who is a well know travel blogger motivated me to share my experience on social media platforms.

This was when " Bhukkad Ghumakkad Official" actually began her journey online. And started creating meaningful content for all the foodies & travel enthusiasts. It has been an amazing journey so far & a great learning curve as there is an ever-growing need for a blogger to be consistent and creative at the same time to keep the audience engaged with an ever dynamic & challenging Insta algorithms which definitely helps us to raise the bar everytime.

I started off with home recipes on my page during lockdown period, Now, the page focuses on fine dine-in & best food places around the town. We have traced the path for future as well, going forward page will also cover must-visit places to travel across the country. Also, I strongly believe that the utmost duty of an influencer is to pen down genuine feedback and not run after lucrative offers so that it helps the community in the right way. Taking one step at a time, now I'm a super foodie on Zomato.

Met some really supportive & like-minded people during this journey , and am really grateful for all the support and love I've received and it has been a great motivation to grow on this platform.

What is your favourite cuisine and dish?

Without any second thoughts - I am always inclined towards indian cuisine- I'd say my favourites are definitely Panipuri and chole bhature from North India, Masala dosa and Onion Uttapam from South India, Pav Bhaji and Dhokla from the west and Sandesh from the east. Being a foodie it's difficult to name one dish.

Should food blogging be just a passion or can it become a regular career?

If one is passionate & disciplined enough to take up this challenging yet competitive role, then passion can definitely be converted to profession. But one should understand the underlying agenda of this role which is to provide genuine feedbacks for the readers and not to rush after the money paid. You need to create unique content and you should stand out from the crowd to create your visibility. Brands are always on a lookout for creative and new talent for their paid promotions. With increased internet users & traffic and using methods like affiliate, advertisement marketing, a reviewer with food magazine etc. can be considered for a career.

Which restaurants/food joints would you recommend to food lovers?

I'm a Delhite and would suggest people to definitely try street food of Delhi to get the authentic flavour of the city. There is no end to great eating joints in every part of Delhi-NCR. However, if you'd want me to recommend a few good restaurants; Ardor 2.1 and Sandoz at Connaught place, Chidiyaghar by Roseate, Plum by Bent Chair at Aerocity. These places have beautiful, vibrant ambience and you really feel the positive vibes. The food is delicious from drinks to desserts.

What makes you appreciate a particular dish or a restaurant and talk about it on your blog?

Being an influencer it becomes our duty to present the best to the viewers, ensuring that the recommendations are based on our real experience. Some of the factors we consider while reviewing are authenticity, taste, hygiene, quality, value for money, ambience or delivery, our personal experience, service/hospitality, the presentation.

We often ask for kitchen tours to ensure food hygiene is being taken care of, since cleanliness is equally important as much as the presentation of the food.

Is there a dish you particularly associate yourself with?

Of course, Yes! Every food influencer would relate themselves to some favourite dish, for me it is desserts.

I might skip the meal but I can't miss on some good dessert. My meals are never complete without a good dessert. I'm a huge fan of Indian Desserts. Kaju Katli, Moong dal halwa top on my list.

So, desserts are something I can complete associate myself with - sweet ( try and make everyone happy with your presence), loved by all and always in demand (be so good, that your absence can be felt).

Which is your favourite book and why?

I enjoy reading the most while travelling. It'd be difficult to name a few. Some of my favourites are-

"Buddha at Work" by Geetanjali Pandit: it's a semi-fictional book and explains Buddha's wisdom which can help us trace the spiritual path and balance our professional as well as personal lives while finding purpose and happiness at work and to learn how negativity can be banished.

The other one is " How to win friends and influence people" by Dale Carnegie: This book is an inexhaustive and thorough guide to develop new relationships and establish bonding and build trust with people. It surely helps in perspective building and to develop strong interpersonal skills and to face challenging conversations.
