Want to know how you
can share games on PS4? Then here we are with all the details.
Luckily there are a
couple of ways through which you can share games on PS4, allowing you to
either share your entire PS4 game library with a friend or family member, or to
share a specific game with someone else – under your watchful eye. Sharing is
caring, after all.
There are these steps
by which you can easily share Games with anyone: To share the digital games on
your PS4 with your friends, one needs to deactivate their PSN (PlayStation
Network) account on their own PS4 and allow the one they want to share with to
activate their account as the primary PS4.
Then your friend can
play all the games you own on his PS4. Don’t worry; this is officially
supported by Sony. But you should always share your PS4 games with only
those friends whom you can trust.
Step 1: Deactivate
your PSN account on your PS4. Your PSN account can set to be the primary
PS4 on only one console another than your own simultaneously. So before your friend sets your account
as their primary PS4, you should deactivate it on your side.
Follow these steps:
1) On your PS4
controller (DualShock 4), press the PS button.
2) On your PS4
dashboard, scroll to the right to find and select
the Settings menu.
3) On the
open Settings page, select PlayStation Network/Account
Management.
4) On the next open
page, select Activate as Your Primary PS4.
5)
Select Deactivate.
6)
Select Yes to complete your deactivation.
Step 2: Activate your
PSN account as the primary PS4 on your friend’s system. Once you deactivate
your PSN account on your system, then your friend can set your PSN account as their primary PS4 to play your games.
Important: Your friend
needs to log in to his PS4 with your account. That’s to say, you might tell your
friend your account and the password. Therefore, just share your PS4 games with
someone on whom you really have trust.
1) On your friends’
PS4, log out of his account and log in with your PSN account.
2) Go to Settings.
3) Go
to PlayStation Network/Account Management.
4)
Select Activate as Your Primary PS4
5)
Select Activate.
6) Your friend
should then see the Activated page. Just click OK.
Now your
friend can log in with his own account on his PS4 to enjoy all your games since
your account is set as the primary PS4 on his console.
If you
don't like the idea of giving your friends or family members full access to
your PS4 game library or you simply don't have access to their PS4 console,
then Share Play is perhaps a safer method to share games on PS4. Sony's Share
Play feature allows you to hand over the control of your game to a friend while you watch them play.
This method requires both you and the other player to have PS4 running system
software 2.0 or higher. Also, Sony thereby recommends a minimum upload speed of 2Mbps.
Also, make sure you and the friend you want to Share Play with are friends on PSN.
Share
Play feature does require a PlayStation Plus membership. Additionally, the game
you play should be available in both of your countries. One point to be noted here is you
can only invite one player to join you with the PS4 Share Play feature.
PlayStation
4 definitely has a lot of attractive qualities compared to other consoles which is why many gamers
consistently prefer it over others. Game sharing is just one of the many
features that are available to you as a PS4 player. Now that you know how to game share on
PS4, you can let your friends and family members play your games with relative
ease. It cuts both ways, too.
With the same feature, you can gain access to your friend’s gaming library, provided
they give you their account details. So, what are you waiting for? Try PS4 game
sharing today.
