Jyoti Kaur - A Real Person Connects Much Better Than the Fake Made-for-Instagram Personality (Content Creator)

Success is a state of mind. I believe the journey is important. The journey is where life transpires. Consistency takes you a long way. Be consistent and just do your work. Don't get distracted by looking at others.

Tell us more about your background and journey

I am an Architect by profession. I used to work full time till my daughter was born. However, after that, I have been fortunate enough to be working part-time in the firm. As I did not have a support system being a nuclear family and I did not want my child to be neglected so I decided to work part-time. This way I am able to balance both.

What led you to start your page on Instagram and what is it about?

When my daughter was 4-year old I had some queries regarding her which I wanted someone with experience or having the expertise to be answered. This led me to surf the internet including social media. While surfing through mom blogs on Instagram I found that most of them catered to children below 4 years.

When I did not find my answers I thought of starting my own blog and share my experiences for others to get ideas based on experience.

How has pandemic changed parenting as well as work for you?

I work from home now and as I told earlier I used to work part time as an Architect. Work-wise, nothing has changed much. However, I feel this is blessing in disguise as I can look over my child's study during online classes. Now, as the working hours are more or less flexible I can plan my work around my daughter's activities.

Where do you get the inspiration and new ideas for your blogs?

As I started developing my blog there were many aspects as a mother which I wanted to highlight. I wanted to write how a mother of a growing child copes up with things in daily life. Now I have broadened the scope and the topics of my blog and write about motherhood, lifestyle and travel.

We as family also loves travelling so through my blog I want to encourage parents to create more memories together with each journey of your child.

I also want my blogs to be kind of memoir for my daughter when she grows up.

How do you maintain the work-life balance being a mom while working/travelling?

Working from home with kids is arduous; as an Instagram influencer and an active blogger itself, I find it challenging to manage my household chores, work, all at once!

I recently wrote a blog on my website on the same topic https://momcaptureslife.com/5-amazing-tips-to-master-work-from-home-and-kids-simultaneously/.

I would say Prioritize your schedule at any cost & Communicate with family members and be gentle to yourself and your kid.

Could you give any tips/advice for people who want to join this field?

I want to start by saying that it is not a cakewalk. What you get to see does not represent the hard work, time and networking involved.

Further, I would like to suggest the beginner be their real self. Show what they actually are. A real person connects much better than the fake made-for-Instagram personality. Being YOU will exude more influence once people start liking for what you are. This they can relate to you much more. Connect with your audience is very important.

Besides, be prepared to put in time and effort. Develop a style and write your blogs in your own style. Do not copy. Self-belief is important. And last but not the least, do not compare yourself with others. It is important to understand that each one has her own experiences, goals and expectations.

What is your idea of success or your mantra in life?

Success is a state of mind. I believe the journey is important. The journey is where life transpires. Consistency takes you a long way. Be consistent and just do your work. Don't get distracted by looking at others.

As explained earlier, being YOU is important.
