1. Tell us more about your company and your journey.

The name of my company is BodyMindSolution. Why bodymindsolution? Because it provides solutions for mind, body, and emotions. We help entrepreneurs, high achievers, and working mothers learn how to manage stress and escape burnout so they can be more productive in order to achieve their goals faster.

2. How did you come up with this idea and go about executing it?

I have always been very passionate about the health and wellness industry. Since my childhood, I was inclined towards a healthy lifestyle. Even when I was in my teens I would go for early morning walks.

My mother always served us healthy and fresh home-cooked meals. I learned swimming at the age of 15 as I love it and played badminton. After my graduation when I entered the corporate world I did not like it so much due to the long working hours and no time for self-care.

Soon, I realized that I don't belong to a 9 to 7(it's definitely not a 9 to 5) job industry.

Back in 2009, I contemplated on what it is that I am very passionate about which can not only help me stay happy but can provide value to people around me. I had the epiphany moment that health is my passion.

I went and pursued my Master's Degree in Yoga and Meditation, then Reiki Healing then Ayurveda Massage Therapy, and Clinical Nutrition. I explored all the areas of health as I wanted to be a ONE STOP SHOP when it comes to health and wellness. I started working as a wellness coach in the year 2011.

3. What has been your biggest challenge that you faced and how did you overcome that?

My biggest challenge was to overcome the fear of being judged especially by your immediate family and friends. I have trained my mind not to give so much importance to what people think and just do what is right for me and my followers.

If I am authentic and I am serving then there is nothing that should stop me. It was not an easy journey but I managed to achieve it by overcoming all my fears.

4. What do you think are the most important qualities of a successful entrepreneur?

Well! The definition of success can vary from person to person but I totally believe that anyone who has achieved the heights of success has gone through a lot of hardships. It never comes easy, so the biggest quality of a successful person is that they turn every failure into a stepping stone.

Success/money is a byproduct of creating an impact in the world. Helping people live a better life through selling or serving and is possible only when one is authentic, consistent, and kind.

5. What are some of the most important factors for running a successful business?

There are many factors and it again depends on the industry you are serving or the product you are selling. According to me, the most important factors are

Being clear about the “Core Values” of the company/individual for example:

Transparency

Serving more than selling say putting people before money

Accountability

Discipline

Planning and executing without procrastinating. One of the key factors is to take imperfect actions.

Marketing and being consistent for at least a few years as no one achieves success overnight so being visible in front of your target audience is also equally important.

And the most important factor I would say is to have a balance between your business, health and personal life. Focus on all three parallelly to escape burnouts.

6. What are your tips for the first time and aspiring entrepreneurs?

Well! I believe aspiring entrepreneurs should know that there is no “get rich quick” thing it takes passion, motivation, hard work, and authenticity to achieve your desired goals and it might not be an easy journey but if you have a vision that you want to follow then there is nothing that is impossible as impossible also says “I M Possible”.

Few things to look into while you are just starting off are:

Learn from people who are a few steps ahead of you in your particular niche.

Don't just blindly follow what everyone is doing avoid falling for the shiny objects.

Do your R&D and find out what pieces of the puzzle you need to gather to move the needle forward in your business. Learn to say “NO” to 9 things to get to that 1 right thing.

Do not waste your time on social media scrolling and consuming information that doesn't serve you. Put reminders on your mobile or block unnecessary notifications. If you are not generating revenue you are not using social media in the right way. Yes! In the beginning, it might not generate revenue but if you lay the foundation right it does eventually.

Plan well and CREATE rather than only consuming information.

Be authentic as it will take you a long way!

7. How can one overcome a hurdle of lack of funds when starting up?

It’s one of the biggest hurdles most aspiring entrepreneurs face. There are a few things one can look at

Save up some money if you still have a full-time job.

Find an investor/angel funding if you think you have an innovative idea.

Collaborate with like-minded people but be mindful of who you trust.

Network with people in the same industry, sometimes it’s not WHAT you know it’s WHO you know.

Find a freelance from Philippine, Indonesia, India to help you set up the basics for your business.

Be smart, take baby steps, and be consistent!
