I believe everyone is still an amateur, as there’s lot left to learn. Photography is a very creative field, and even amateurs know a great deal about it. Framing sense is another technical aspect that one must be well versed with.
1. Tell us about your background and journey
My family has a business, and I wasn’t much inclined towards it. There was a photography contest held in my college. Out of fascination, I participated in it, having no prior experience in photography.
A senior of mine suggested me to buy a DSLR camera and just start shooting. That’s what I did. Working constantly, to improve my art also helped me!
2. What led you to choose this as your profession?
It started just a coincidence. After a point when work is appreciated you tend to take it more seriously. My actual journey began in September 2011, when I began working for a PR company, where I worked with an amazing team. Going further I wanted to do something different, and started exploring portfolio shoot.
Eventually after exploring the various fields of photography, in 2018 I started working on big projects.
3. What are the challenges you face and how do you overcome it?
In this industry there’s no healthy competition. I make sure that the artists I work with are comfortable during shoot, and the photos not selected by them aren’t out on any digital platform.
4. What are the career opportunities available for amateur photographers?
I believe everyone is still an amateur, as there’s lot left to learn. Photography is a very creative field, and even amateurs know a great deal about it. Framing sense is another technical aspect that one must be well versed with.
5. How do you define a perfect shot?
Perfect reading, background and lighting!
6. What advice would you like to give to the future and aspiring photographers?
Everyday is a learning opportunity! Never hurt anyone’s work, and focus on your own work. A healthy competition is what will take you further. Respecting your profession is essential, to get a turnback.
