I believe in touching upon everything that I think I can do with my abilities and potential. I don’t say no to any opportunity that comes my way if I think I can do it and fit it into my present life.
I
am a person who Respects the boon of life bestowed upon me . To me
life is extremely precious and Is not worth wasting a minute without
utilising it to the best of my abilities. And becoming the best version
of my own self with every passing day.
I
do not have “ a “profession ..I like to explore life in different
dimensions through the work I do. I studied fashion, one Indian national
beauty pageant , Then became a model , Then became a Fashion designer.
Then became a fitness enthusiast and became a blogger and columnist For
health fitness and holistic living, started A school for early education
for early years, then started organic farming, Became an influencer
this year I started my own YouTube channel with my own show called
“sustainable living with Shilpa Reddy “and there is something else in
the pipeline that I might announce soon ..Along with all this I am an
active member on board And am the Brand ambassador for three charity
organisations.
That deals
with mental health, para athletes, safety of children. The work I do
some of it is commercial , some I do absolutely out of passion ..
I
believe in touching upon everything that I think I can do with my
abilities and potential. I don’t say no to any opportunity that comes my
way if I think I can do it and fit it into my present life.
2. What is your fitness mantra?
Whatever you do consistency is the key!
Crash
diets or Extreme new fad diets are a joke to me .. It is okay to
have few extra pounds but how are you feel within your body is the most
Important thing you should ask yourself. Never the shape of the body.
Fitness regime should become like brushing your teeth.
Human
body is meant to work the more you work with it the more efficient and
dynamic in becomes it’s as simple as that. I wonder why people struggle
so much with staying active and fit When it only works in their own
favour.
3. What are some of major misconceptions about diets and exercises?
I
address this point in the second question itself. I absolutely don’t
believe in them it is only to Constantly sell something new to their
population .
4. How can one maintain a healthy lifestyle?
First
one must understand what is the most important thing in our lives.
Living healthy with healthy body and healthy mind. Without which we
cannot even function .
So
the top priority is staying healthy. If this comes into everyone’s mind
as a top priority they will work towards it. People have misplaced
priorities they will not think twice to spend in the hospitals and
entertainment and lifestyle but I think hundred times to spend 4 clean
food Nutrition .
People
spend their time browsing on the net for hours together but find it
difficult to spend that time to train your body and mind.
5. How can one build a successful career in your field?
In
any field Extreme focus without getting distracted and working and
giving your hundred percent makes you successful in any career . That
being said that skill development is something one must constantly
strive. Updating yourself In which ever field you are is crucial in
today’s day and age which is fast moving and ever changing. Every career
needs innovation and creativity without which you cannot sustain.
6. What is one piece of advice you would like to give someone who wishes to lose weight?
Get your act right ..
There
is so much information online with authentic websites ..One will lose
weight or do anything for that matter when they truly want it for
themselves till then no matter what you do doesn’t get you the results
that you need I want .. having said that if you bring in 40% of your
food as raw one can easily manage their weight.
Hydrating yourself
enough getting a good night sleep enough physical training avoiding
saturated fats, high sodium, refined sugar does wonders to your body .
no processed food, no packed tin food .. Eating out is the worst thing
one can do To their bodies.
Eat home-cooked food keeping it simple when
it comes to variety. Changing the cooking style without too many onions,
garlic and gravy. Making sure the vegetables are still crunchy and not
overcooked. These are all something one must keep in mind before
consuming.
7. How do diets and exercise contribute to overall well being and happiness?
This question also is pretty much answered in the above.
But
lastly I want to add that mental fitness is as important or in fact
more than physical fitness. Today I know many young people cannot sleep
without a sleeping pill . They have become extremely dependent on them.
Many have become addicted to antidepressants which I feel will take
humanity in to down spiral In just a few generations.
It
is an absolute necessity ever than before to allot time for meditation
and breathing exercises which will calm one’s mind and improves focus
And brings clarity to one’s life.
This
becomes all the more important In today’s day and age with the kind of
lifestyle is we have and the kind of fast paced life we live .
