1. Tell us more about your background and journey.

It was while doing my graduation in Economics that the realization dawned vivid and clear, that I find happiness in the pages of my diary where I write my heart out. That’s when I knew that I just want to write.

Like so many of us, I was afraid of change. Eventually, I learned to fight with my thoughts and embrace change. I realized that just because one has lived with the wrong decision for ten years, one doesn’t need to do that for a lifetime. I took that one step that was so scary.

Not appearing for the Civil Services exam, as I was halfway to finishing my first book was a risk. I took that risk and I can say- one can’t taste success without taking a risk.

Fight for your dream. Give it all your heart. Because it matters.

2. When did you decide you wanted to be a writer?

I was twenty-one when I made that choice. When I told my mother about the sudden decision to change my career plan, she didn’t question me once. She just said- Remember, whatever you do, be the best version of yourself.

And every single day, every single moment, I try to do that. And I can promise you that makes a big difference. That makes me proud of myself, all the time. That’s an incredible feeling to live with.

3. Is it a financially stable career?

There is a notion that writers don’t earn enough. It’s time that this notion is changed. In this time and age, a writer just doesn’t just earn from the books he/she sells.

There is so much more. You are more of an influencer. Brands reach out to you for collaborations. You are paid to be at talk shows. You are a motivational speaker. And hey, books coming to screen is another world of financial stability.

4. Who is your favorite writer and why?

The fondness for Ruskin Bond never fades away. If your childhood had the taste of his books, you can’t love someone more than him. That’s how it is.

5. Where does your inspiration lie?

It’s everywhere. Literally. From seeing a flower coming to life to witnessing two strangers share a moment of love, I notice it all. I face what my heart feels and what capacities it has.

I write how I see the world. I accept what my heart is feeling. All hearts beat the same though we may have different stories. The emotions we undergo have similar breaths.

6. What piece of advice would you like to give to future aspiring authors?

Write what your heart asks you to write. It’s that simple. Give wings to your dreams. It could take a moment to fly or probably you'd stumble, fall, or shatter.

But once you have the courage to pick your pieces and join them, no one will ever be able to break you. No one. That is how it is and that is it.

7. Which is your favorite book and why?

‘The Secret’ by Rhonda Byrne. Because it has magic, that stays.
