Born and brought up in Delhi, I went to IIT Bombay to pursue engineering. Apart from studying engineering, did everything else in my college and really enjoyed storytelling as a hobby and as luck would have it I was soon into writing. Started from funny YouTube sketches to branded content, I soon graduated to writing and producing shows.
2. How and when did you realize your passion for becoming a writer and creative director?
It was in college when I would study just enough to get passing marks and spend most of time producing plays and short films that I realised that storytelling is something I could pursue in the future. However, It wasn’t until my last year that I finally decided to take the leap and started writing full time.
3. What are the important skills one should have to be a successful creative director?
As a writer, perseverance and focus are something that’ll take you a long way.
4. Which film(s) do you appreciate the most for their direction?
Very difficult to choose as there’s a long list; I’ll pick the latest ones i remember. One cut of the dead, Coco, Jalikattu, Whiplash, Parasite.
5. What has been the biggest learning from your job?
The biggest learning would be; there are no rules to storytelling. Everyday you have the chance to do something different and create something new so don’t hold yourself back.
6. Which is your favourite book and why?
Again too many answers so difficult to pick one. I’d say ASOIAF series as that’s something I’m still reading.
