Look around and observe with the eyes of a photographer and you’ll notice so many things that you never noticed before.

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I’m an engineer by degree. I don’t have any professional background of photography as such but I always had an interest in it which has led me to where I am today.

I started young when I was in 11th standard and from there on my passion became my profession when I was still in college. First, I started with Wedding Photography and kept experimenting with different genres and later realised my interest in Fashion Photography.

2. How and when did you realize your passion for photography?

I have been into photography since the 11th standard. I used to click pictures of random things with my phone and then realised that it is actually interesting how we can create different stories with our pictures.

Then, I started learning about its different technicalities and methods through different sources on the internet and practised for a few years. Eventually, I started taking up projects and began my work as a professional photographer.

3. What are some tips you would like to share with amateur photographers?

I would just like to say that in this field you can never run out of inspiration and things to learn from it. Look around and observe with the eyes of a photographer and you’ll notice so many things that you never noticed before.

4. What are the important skills one should have to be a successful photographer?

Frankly speaking, you don’t actually need any degree to be a good professional photographer. Many of the top photographers in the world are self-taught. But the one skill that you must have is the sharp eyes. You must be able to see the subject in your frame with a different perspective than how others might see.

5. What are various opportunities available for aspiring photographers?

There are a lot of opportunities for aspiring photographers these days. All they have to do is find their genre, start shooting and create a profile which is both interesting and attractive.

6. Which is your favourite book and why?

I’m not exactly an ardent reader. But there’s one book that I like to go through, it’s called ‘The Fashion Book’ by Phaidon. It’s not a book with any specific story.

Basically, it’s a collection and overview of the fashion industry, in short, it’s a ‘Fashion Bible’ as people say it. It has stunning pictures which are a great inspiration for ideas and also you get updated with the fashion trend.
