I am a Medical doctor turned Entrepreneur, with a degree in the field of Ayurveda and in Clinical Research and Regulatory Affairs. Having rich experience in various healthcare domains as a medical practitioner, health & wellness consultant for hospitals, hospitality sector & corporates to mentoring health startups.
Through my journey of 10+ years, I started as an RMO, from where I forayed into the hospitality sector working as a consultant with the likes of Hilton, Radisson, and many more. From there I moved to work with corporates & PSU like HPCL, IOCL, GVK group, AFCONS, etc. as a wellness consultant.
But my passion always was in starting something of my own and in 2015 I Co-founded Faad Network Private limited which is an early-stage startup investment platform. FAAD has allowed me to interact with numerous entrepreneurs, business owners, CXO’s, etc. It has given me a great opportunity to understand both sides of the startup ecosystem.
2.How did you come up with this idea and go about executing it?
I was always excited about the startup ecosystem and wanted to add value with my experience and knowledge. I was always passionate about working with startups and learning finer details about Investments.

2.How did you come up with this idea and go about executing it?
I was always excited about the startup ecosystem and wanted to add value with my experience and knowledge. I was always passionate about working with startups and learning finer details about Investments.
So I and my friend Karan Verma (Co-Founder, FNPL) thought of starting Faad network; initially, we started as a startup accelerator where we used to provide all sorts of services to startups. Our groundwork helped us to learn more about this ecosystem.
During this process, we met a lot of entrepreneurs and understood their pain points and challenges. And one of the key pain points was to have early-stage funds. So we pivoted to work on this problem and build our own angel network for early-stage investments.
We believe in strategic investments which will help startups to scale alongside providing capital to the startups. We conduct monthly demo day where we invite curated startups in front of investors and through which we invest in the startups according to our thesis.
3. What has been your biggest challenge that you faced and how did you overcome that?
I and Karan come from very different backgrounds. I am a medical doctor and he is an engineer. None of us had any prior venture capital or investment banking experience.

Generally, if we talk about this industry, Individuals with 2 or 3 decades of experience get into this business of angel network or funds. But we were determined & passionate enough to make it big. So we acquired the necessary skills by learning it from industry veterans, events and webinar/workshops, and like-minded entrepreneurs.
We initially did everything on our own but later we realized that you need to have a great team to make it big and then we had the right set of advisors and investors & other professionals with us who are supporting us in our journey.

7. How can one overcome a hurdle of lack of funds when starting up?
Most of the entrepreneur bootstraps their startups with their own funds. Whenever you want to have your own start-up, always have 6 months to a year of corpus funds with you otherwise it will be very difficult to sustain your startups keeping in mind the expenses you incur during your journey.

Otherwise, find a good incubator or accelerator which can help you raise funds and mentor you accordingly. Also, you can look out to have funds from friends and family and execute your startups and reach out to a stage where you can find angel investors or network platforms like us for fundraising.
