My motto was don't feed your clients anything that you wouldn't feed your family.
So the main motive was premium quality at not so premium prices. A lot of work and support from my family went into this. The support of friends and clients helped the business grow and of course Social media was a great business booster.
1. Tell us about your background and journey.
I am Sulthana Fathima of age 40. I am married and I have 2 children. I am a cake artist based out of Thrissur, Kerala and I run a brand called SANAS . We are specialized is custom cakes , events dessert tables and bringing happiness to our clients.
I am a mom who in 30 years had lost her inner strength and was feeling all alone... unaccomplished even after having a happy family life. I felt the sense of unachievement . I wasn't living my potential life.
Baking commercially happened as a turning point to me . In 2013, my brand Sanas was established in Thrissur. It was just started in a small scale but my business opened multiple channels both financially and emotionally. I could see the growth in me as a person and a happier me emerged .
2. How did you come up with this idea and go about executing it?
The business happened accidentally. But for growing, it had a lot of work , planning and expertizing myself. My motto was don't feed your clients anything that you wouldn't feed your family.

- Know your product ,make it uniquely yours
- Be flexible to changes ,at the same time stick by the rules
- Hard work and patience pays
- You will need a structured business plan and also much planning for daily work
- Do something you are passionate about
- Making money alone is just not enough
- Taking huge risks without a plan is complete madness
- Knowing your business and learning the skill to do is the first investment
I guess According to me, it would be:
- Molding yourself
- Knowing Business strategies to suit to the changing environment because as time changes your plans also change so always have a back up plan
Self confidence will help you achieve what you set out to and training yourself physically and mentally for that. These would surely make you a successful entrepreneur.
