Triton 3300/6 : The Luxurious Six-Person Submarine

You might have seen the work of the iconic most popular submersible line TRITON 3300/3 in several notable projects- Sir David Attenborough's Great Barrier Reef, BBC's Galapagos, BBC & Discovery's Blue Planet II, etc. It has achieved multiple achievements and got several world firsts and world records.

After Aston Martin Submarine and Triton DeepView Submarine's success, Triton has recently come up with a new one, being dubbed as "A Salon under the sea," Triton 3300/6.

Since the submarines are named and classified based on the depth, it can go to and the passengers it can carry. As the name suggests, this one can go up to depths of 3,300 feet (1000 meters) and carry up to 6 passengers in it, including the pilot.

Luxuries That Triton Offers

1. Comfort+

Comfort is the trademark feature that every Triton design offers to its users. With the central machinery placed outside of the main room, it provides ample space for its guests.

In the smallest 1000-meter capable sub on the planet, Triton 3300/1 MD, there is enough space for the passenger to have plenty leg-, arm-, elbow-, shoulder- and head-room found typically on the larger subs.

In Triton 660/9 AVA, there is even space for clients to choose from subsea casinos, bars, and restaurants. Triton guarantees that no other submersible on the planet, large or small, offers a comparable comfort level.

2. Dependability

While commercial operators maximize profitability and productivity, Triton guarantees to offer industry-leading levels of in-water-time. They feature easy-to-access maintenance bays.

American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and DNV-GL classified submersibles have retained a perfect safety record. In the last year, approx. 1 million boarded the civilian submarine fleet, and Triton follows the same safety level.

There are many backup systems to ensure customer safety, as standard, which includes manual overrides on all critical systems, direct air injection to ballast tanks and jettisonable battery pods, drop-weights, and manipulators and tooling.

Triton goes an extra mile of assurance by continually tracking and monitoring the vehicle's subsea location in case of civilian submersibles. In these, there is also a battery backup of additional 96 hours.

Besides that, over 1000 tests and checks occur by ABS or DNV-GL surveyors who ensure various safety standards. Every Triton sub is tested at the level of at least 1.2 times the vehicle's operating depth.

3. Premium Acrylic

Triton has been part of multiple documentary filming projects that go under the ocean; it is mainly attributed to the quality of the optics it uses. It is easily possible to see the colors of a vibrant reef without distortion or interruption.

This means that the professionals will be able to shoot quality 8K videos, handheld without color-casting, or edit much later.

The premium-grade acrylic is provided majorly on an exclusive basis by their manufacturing partners in Germany. They have patented non-spherical pressure hulls featured on the Triton 660/6 AVA, which are not found elsewhere.

4. Diffuse AC

This unique feature makes the whole experience comfortable. That controlled cabin environment is designed to diffuse air through concealed channels.

5. Quality and Craftsmanship

They are partners with Aston Martin, so their next-generation interiors are hand-crafted and made from the finest American leathers. The leather is sourced from one of the highest-regarded farms, and the tanning quality is top-notch too.

Range Overview

They have multiple series available in their product portfolio:

1. Deepview Series

These are the high-capacity, high-throughput subs best suited for commercial tourism.

2. 1000 - Series

These can reach depths between 1,000-1,650 feet (300-500 meters). Triton 1000/2 and Triton SPII can go up to 1,000 feet in depth, and Triton 1650/3 LP can go up to 1,650 feet.

3. 3000 - Series

These are ideal for exploring the Norwegian Fjords, Hydrothermal Vents in the Atlantic Ocean, etc. Triton 3300/1 MD and Triton 3300/3 MKII can go up to 3,300 feet.

4. Ultra - Deep Series

They are rated for depths greater than 7,500 feet (2,300 meters). Triton 7500/3 can go up to 7,500 feet, and Triton 36000/2 can go up to an exceptional 36,000 feet.

The Triton Experience

The experience varies depending on the users. One of the most stand-out ones is luxury.

The Triton series offers an experience of luxury by providing multiple features. It gives a far better experience than that of your average scuba diving experience, as this can remain submerged underwater for up to 12 hours.

Regardless of the depth, inside the passenger cabinet, the area is always air-conditioned, the temperature remains controlled, and the pressure remains at the surface level. You can see the beautiful reefs and multiple unusual species.

Not only that, but it is also there helping in the domain of science and archaeology. Multiple producers, directors, and artists are making use of Triton for their underwater productions.
