Davide Oricchio - I Am a Self-Taught Photographer Who Learned to Practice With Time (Professional Photographer)

Davide Oricchio is a Professional Photographer born and raised in Rome, Italy in the 90s. Specialized in Urban and landscape photography it’s passionate about documenting human life in cities. Between his favorite interests, there are art, photography, cinema, music, travels, and books. 

1. Tell us about your background and journey. 

My background in photography starts when I was a kid, traveling around with my family. I always loved to photography what I saw during the trips documenting, landscape’s, people’s, and architecture. I am a self-taught photographer who learned to practice with time. 

2. How and when did you realize your passion for photography? 

I realized my passion for art in general and especially photography during my adolescence more or less when I was around 16-17 years old. A passion that grew even more towards the 20s thanks to the arrival of the more advanced digital cameras, media opportunities. 

3. What are some tips you would like to share with amateur photographers 

About the tips I would like to share with amateur photographers there are: Don’t focus too much on gear it’s not essential especially for those who are starting. To enjoy the process and mostly to learn by practicing. 

4. What are the important skills one should have to be a successful photographer 

In my opinion the more important skill it’s having vision and idea’s otherwise it happens to do things that are already being done thousands of times. 

5. What are various opportunities available for aspiring photographers? 

Difficult question especially at the moment with the current global situation as any other industry it’s having problems. 

6. Which is your favorite book and why? 

My favorite book, to choose only one isn’t easy, but I’ll go with The little prince by Antoine de Saint Exupéry because gives imagination and perspective.
