1. Tell us about your background and journey.

Hi I'm Aman Singh Aka RJ Aman Singh. I am a Radio Jockey, Host of FM DOWNTOWN Podcast, Voice Over Artist, Public Speaker and Co-Founder Of FMDT STUDIOS & PodPAY.in. I started my Journey as a Normal Podcast Creator in July 2020 During Lockdown due to COVID 19 Pandemic.

Public Speaking and Voicing were my Topic of Interest from Very Beginning of My School Life. Like You may have seen people Getting Nervous in the Name of Stage or Speaking On Mic in Any Gathering but for me it was Completely Different I use to Enjoy these things.

Even you will not believe that When I was in my 12th Grade I am a Science Student by the way then Some of my Classmates and even Some Teachers use to taunt me for participating in School events they were like " tum yahi sab karo, dekhna 12th me fail ho jaoge" (you do only these things, I'm sure you will fail in your boards) but I proved them Wrong by scoring an amazing Percentage and being on Highest in some of my Subjects including science.

And also I was Awared as " Student of the Year". And those who were demotivating me some of them got Failed and Repeated the year. All I want to say that If you have Talent Don't Hide it Show it to the world and don't worry about What People are going to say. Believe me they don't care!

So One day I was hosting an Event of My City Authorities and after the Event Some People who were RJs of Different Radio Stations told me that My Voice Sounds amazing I should try for RJ and as of now I must start my Podcast. And After that I started my podcast and see I'm Here! So ya this was my Small but Inspiring Journey!

2. Why did you choose RJing as a career and what were the first steps you took?

RJing as a career was never my dream to be honest but this was the fact that Audio fascinated me all the time. But I never thought of being a RJ, I think that maybe because of My Family Background that is full of Military My Dad my grandfather my Brother everyone.

But it was not like Nobody supported me for this Everybody Supported me For Podcast and For RJ too. And Specially my MOM, so ya Thank you Mummy!
My First steps were Creating Podcast... just kidding. I was selected On basis of my Podcast so for me this was my Step.

3. Tell us Something about Your Podcasting Journey.

My Podcast Journey was So Amazing and because of my podcast FM DOWNTOWN I'm a Radio Jockey today and people love me and my Voice it all because of my Podcast.

let me tell you why.....

When I Shared my Very first episode I was never expecting that audience will give an enormous amount of love. And in later episodes I started getting a lot of Messages via mail and on social media about my Voice and Accent. I was on Seven Clouds because it's a dream of every Creator to get This response from their audience.

And when FM DOWNTOWN was getting Famous Somehow it came in Knowledge of Manager of A Radio Station and they Loved it so much and they Offered me To be Radio Jockey with them. This all is happening when I'm just 18 now! And I accepted that and that made me to One of India's youngest RJ .

4. What are the skills required to be a radio jockey?

I think the Most Important Skill is VOICE , you must have a clear And loving Voice which everybody should love to listen.

And you may get some people Saying that graduation in Mass Communication is required but I don't think that is much important than Voice because you can see in my case I'm a Science Student and still I'm doing Graduation in Science.

It gives you a plus point in your CV for applying as RJ but I don't think any Radio Company will give more preference to mass Com. Over a good voice.

So this is the Skill one should work on to be an outstanding RJ.

5. Does one also need to be technologically savvy in your favourite?

Here there is a misconception that Radio Jockey only Speak on mic, he/she does not have to do with technical things, so let me clear that they need to manage some technical parts also, like the Sound Panels and Software which we work on.

So For being Radio Jockey you need not to be very much Techy but one must know about Basic Computer knowledge and How Radio works.

6. What makes a person connect with their audience as an RJ?

It's very simple actually, because people love them to whom they think they are one of like them and in radio if you do something which is very relatable to your audience then they definitely gonna love you and will wait for your show to get ON AIR .

So be Authentic and Don't Overact while you are on Radio because nobody can beat the Natural Flow of Speech.

7. Which is your favourite book?

My favourite Book is Always " Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta" I would love to suggest everyone to read it without taking it as a religious book, read it as a life Guide.
