2. What led you to start your page on Instagram and what is it about?
UAE, being my first country outside India, I wanted to show the rich culture, places and food of the emirates through my Instagram page. My friends and families used to wait every weekend for me to upload pictures in my Instagram about my exploration journey in UAE.
Slowly I started entering the blogging world and now I am a food & lifestyle blogger, having covered more than 177 restaurants in the last 2 years and still counting.
My Instagram page is all about food, supporting small businesses, making them reach maximum audiences and running giveaways every week for my followers for their constant love and support in my page.
3. How would you distinguish the term blogger from an influencer?
There is a thin line of difference between a blogger and an influencer.
A blogger is someone who blogs with his/her original content and influencer is someone who is influential online.
A blogger can also be an influencer, like how I am, I blog as well as I influence a specific audience for a specific product(like beauty or skincare products)
In the blogging world, influence is often measured by monthly visitors and engagement metrics like likes, comments, saves, shares etc.
4. Is it financially sustainable to be a blogger today?
Well it depends from person to person. Bloggers get two options from the brand, barter collaboration or paid collaboration. In barter you get products or services for free in exchange for reviews and in paid you get a certain amount for each post/story.
But being in Dubai, blogging should not be the only source of income, there should be other alternatives as well.
5. What makes you appreciate a particular dish or a restaurant and talk about it on your blog?
I am a big fan of home cooking. I love simple and freshly prepared dishes. To be honest I appreciate those dishes which reminds me of my home. Also I appreciate those restaurants where the chef comes directly on my table and explains it to me how passionately he has prepared those dishes, his love for cooking and his honest reviews.
6. What is your idea of success or your mantra in life?
My idea of success is being disciplined. I have been through a lot in life but I didn't give up because I was disciplined and determined in what I was doing.
7. How can someone become a successful social media blogger?
You cannot become a successful social media blogger overnight, it requires constant efforts, learning from failures, giving your heart and passion to it and being always original. You have to engage with your followers on a constant basis, because you are what you are cause of your followers only.
You have to be humble with your followers, have to keep it real, write original content, make interactive posts, upload high quality and creative pictures/videos for your feed, frequently run giveaways on your page for your followers as an appreciation token.
8. Which is your favourite book and why?
