There was a time where I dreamt of opening a dance studio and teaching clogging, I even taught in another studio for a couple years but my family and job were my priority and dancing took a backseat unless you count the dance-dance challenges the kids got me to do with them.
1. Tell us about your background and journey.
I work as a graphic designer and put in 10 hour days come home and figure out what dance we are going to learn and post for that evening. It all stared in March of 2020 when Covid was at its peak and the kids were bored so the kids made me a TikTok account because they wanted to have me do a dance with them on TikTok.
My goal at the time was to embarrass them and I have done a fairly good job at that seeing how they have friends and teachers that follow my account. After a few months of doing trending Tik Tok dances I decided to try to learn dances from other cultures to keep it fun for me.
I started taking requests and dancing to songs my followers suggested and then after a while we ended up doing some Indian songs and followers suggested we start to post on Instagram because Tik Tok being banded in India.
After about a month or so we decided we needed to figure out Reels and started posting on Instagram. And here we are.
2.Which form of dance you like and enjoy the most?
I like all kinds of dance, I do like learning new things but my favorite is anything that my wife or kids are joining in with. I grew up clogging started when I was 8years old so I still like to do that, danced through High school and joined a dance team in college.
3. What makes you groove your feet on Bollywood, Tamil , Punjabi and many more Indian songs?
Requests from followers brought us to all of them but they are fun catchy tunes that make it easy to dance.
4. Have you ever dreamt of pursuing dance as your career?
There was a time where I dreamt of opening a dance studio and teaching clogging, I even taught in another studio for a couple years but my family and job were my priority and dancing took a backseat unless you count the dance-dance challenges the kids got me to do with them.
They would kill me seeing how they spent hours on that system learning the dances before offering the challenge. So you could say that covid brought the dancer in me back.
5. What you would like to suggest to people of your age group ?
Stop waiting on something crazy to happen in life and start doing something you are passionate about. There is never a better time then now to start.
6. Who is your favorite dancer who inspires you?
I still like watching the ones I grew up watching on MTV, Michael Jackson, Bobby Brown, Paula Abdul, Janet Jackson etc.
