1. Tell us more about yourself and your life.
I am a single mother of a 21year old daughter. I live in Noida and I run a care centre by the name Hope for speechless souls. Where I work mainly for blind, paralysed, old dogs, dogs with skin issues, accidental cases and SOS cases
2. What led you into social activism?
For me it’s simply a life style. It started with me trying to save a puppy and moved on to a full fledged care centre with 80 babies and even working for destitute humans.
3. What is that one cause you care deeply about and why?
3. What is that one cause you care deeply about and why?
I care deeply about street animals and that is why I have dedicated my life to working for them 24/7.
4. If one wants to contribute and make a difference in social causes, how can one do it?
4. If one wants to contribute and make a difference in social causes, how can one do it?
In my opinion one must find a cause they deeply care for which can help bring a positive change in the society. One can be a nature lover, human lover or work for animals.
Once you choose your field then you can get attached to various NGO’s etc to work with them or start working individually. That is how you start and take it to greater heights.
I am my own role model. It may sound strange but it’s true. No body in my family or friends ever worked in this field or tried to encourage me to work fir speechless souls. I initiated the first step, I faced all the difficulties alone and I only motivate myself whenever I am stuck in a situation. Everyday I try to be more like me and do better than me.

6. What are some of the challenges and roadblocks you have faced along your journey?
The worst challenges that I have faced have come from none other but most civilised humans of our so called modern society. At every step instead of helping me they have made sure that I face obstacles at every step.
From threat calls to being evicted from my home, to having people come threaten me personally. Rest Finance is a major challenge - I constantly need support of donors to run the care centre filled with 80 babies. Their food their medicine being my prime concern. Piling bills always trouble me as I am not sponsored by the Government.
7. Your opinion about social media activism.
7. Your opinion about social media activism.
Social media plays a very important role in creating awareness. Many around us do not know how easily street dogs can be managed, treated or cared for. Once the awareness comes more and more people enter into the stream. I believe if one humans starts to take care of the street animals only in its lane then the world will soon be a better place to live in.
Also social media plays a major role in helping the activists by strengthening the law or getting new laws made in favour of their cause.
