Deepti Chandak

I feel happy about the fact that I make some difference in the lives of the masses. The people who follow me believe in me and they look forward in seeing more content. This is motivating me enough to keep going. I am still growing and learning every day from my audience and the changed world of content creation. There is still a Long Way to Go.

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I am a Media Professional. I have been handling media strategy for various Luxury brands in the Middle East and India. However, way back in 2012, I decided to start a travel blog as I loved travelling and was very keen to share my stories.

I started writing blogs at www.jivewithdeepti.com and later, from a simple travel blog, it also became a lifestyle blog as my audience was very keen to know more about my lifestyle. I can safely say that my passion for travelling inspired me to become the Content Creator that I am today.

It wasn’t an easy journey, however, I did get the first-mover advantage. I was the first Asian to start influencing in the UAE in 2012 and within a year I won the title of ‘Best Asian Blogger’ at Masala Awards in Dubai and got nominated for several other awards. In 2017, I moved back to India and settled in Mumbai and continued to build my base in the Indian market.

2. What are some of your achievements in your career?

It's been a huge struggle and journey in order to reach my goal but I'm very thankful for it as my hard work yield me these fruits:

Won: ‘Best Asian Blogger 2013’ Masala Awards (Nominated for the same category in 2014 & 2015) UAE

Nominated: ‘Best Female Personality’ at Ahlan People’s Choice Awards UAE 2014

Nominated: ‘Best Blog’ at the Ahlan People’s Choice Awards UAE 2015 & 2016

Nominated: ‘Lifestyle Social Media Star of the Year’ for the Stylist Magazine UAE Social Media Awards 2016 & 2017

3. What are you currently doing?

Few months back I started my own digital luxury magazine called Luxpresso Magazine www.luxpressomagazine.com that caters to an international audience at large. This project has kept me busy for the last 6 months.

5. How did you build a following in Instagram?

To build any social community you need to be:

  • Be Consistent with your content
  • Be Honest with your audience
  • Add Value driven content
  • Show your Face reel vs real both

My journey is based on these pointers.

 6. What are your future plans?

I always work on short term goals and for now it is to get better with content for both My Social Media Cannel and Luxpresso. I also want to focus a lot more on health and fitness. Lockdown gave me the time to practice Yoga & Meditation.

I spent a lot of time in Rishikesh learning Yoga. In fact very recently, I launched my wellness page too at zenandzeel I plan to host wellness retreats as well very soon.

7. Which is your favorite book and why?

I have many favorites and here are my top 2

  • Dr Wayne Dyer called Change Your Thoughts Change Your Life : This book will change your perspective the way you look at Life. It's a very empowering book and a great resource for living an inspiring life that is full of satisfaction and happiness
  • The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz : This Book talks about the self-limiting beliefs that rob us of joy and create needless suffering. This book will help one look into within and provide a roadmap for a fulfilling life.
