A few years ago I won a kids meal competition with Movenpick and after establishing a good relationship with the brand, I helped to create their Powers Bites kid's menu for their hotels in the Middle East and Asia and I've been working with food ever since.
1. Tell us about your background and journey.
I'm a South African, living in Dubai, United Arab Emirates for the last 15 years. I have a masters degree in psychology but I currently work as a content creator, foodie and photographer.
2. How did your journey as chef started?
My mum is the most incredible cook so I grew up eating the most delicious meals. She definitely passed on the appreciation for good food and inspired me to always do my best and experiment in the kitchen.

3. How would you describe your style of cooking?
Wholesome, adventurous, comforting.
4. Which is your favourite cuisine and dish?
I have many so it's really hard to choose! Probably Indian cuisine because it has so many layers of flavour. Hard to choose only one dish though. Probably my mum's biryani.
5. How do you feel about food blogging as a profession?
It works well if you stay true to your self and your style and of it's still fun.
6. How important is innovation when it comes to cooking?
I love to innovate and keep things interesting but you cannot go wrong with the traditional way. I think for restaurants, innovation is definitely necessary to keep ahead in the market.
7. What tips and advice would you give to aspiring chefs?
I'd say trust your instincts in the kitchen, don't be afraid to experiment and be confident!
8. Which is your favourite book and why?
Another tough one...probably To Kill A Mockingbird and for recipe books, Cosmopolitan Cuisine by Mariam Mahomedy.
