Levi Kelly - Never Give up and Keep Creating Content if You Want It Bad Enough, Because if You Don’t, Someone Else Does (YouTuber)

Levi Kelly

I found inspiration from other YouTubers. I wanted to become a paid YouTuber somehow and I kept watching people that actually do get paid and how they do it. At first, I created any type of video to hopefully have one get a lot of views. I think I would still be trying if things turned out differently.

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I started as a freelance videographer right out of high school. Started uploading seriously on my Youtube channel in January of 2019 and in 8 months I had 800 subscribers. I posted anything from minimalist videos, how-to’s, and skits. Jaden Smith tweeted out a link to one of my Airbnb videos randomly in July and that video now has over 3 million views and launch my YouTube platform. Now I post Airbnb tours every week!

2. When did you first decide that you wanted to create a video and how did you start?

I first decided back in high school. I wanted to create funny goofy videos with my friends so I started with my phone. Loved it ever since!

3. Is Video creation a financially sustainable career?

Yes, videography is definitely a financially sustainable career. I was a freelancer for a couple years in a small town.

4. Who is your favorite creator and why?

My favorite creator is Pewdiepie. A lot of people might think that’s strange but he has killed the YouTube game for a decade now and has such a core audience that it basically feels like family. He is on my TV basically every day.

5. How and where do you find inspiration to churn out content?

I found inspiration from other YouTubers. I wanted to become a paid YouTuber somehow and I kept watching people that actually do get paid and how they do it. At first, I created any type of video to hopefully have one get a lot of views. I think I would still be trying if things turned out differently haha.

6. What does your typical day look like?

My typical day starts off with some coffee of course. Then I will get on my computer and edit videos or looks at emails from 8 to 11. Then I'll get lunch. Then I will work on the computer some more until around 1:30 or 2. That's if I am not traveling. I travel to Airbnbs all over the US maybe 1 week out of every month.

7. Which is your favorite book and why?

My favorite book is “The Unseen Realm” by Michael Hauser. Great book related to the Christian faith.

8. What piece of advice would you like to give to future and aspiring creators?

My advice to further creators would be to never give up. Create the content on a regular basis and change it up sometimes. If I would have given up at 7 months, I wouldn’t have my dream job. Keep creating if you want it bad enough because if you don’t, someone else does!
