“If I want an identity of my own, I need to do something different from others”, This is my opinion, And this thought of mine always inspires me to draw portraits or illustrations. With this very thought, I get inspired to do something new, unique, and different in my work.

2. When and how did you decide to pursue art?

Since childhood, I am fond of art. I had my childhood in a very small village where there were no colors, drawing paper, or other art material available during those days. So I used to create sketches with pen on notebooks and make toys out of natural clay.

But when I started my secondary school education, I got colors, drawing books, other art material, etc. and this further boosted my interest in art. Over the period of time, I got to know that there are special schools that specifically provide education and guidance in art, and at the same time, I decided that I would join art school in the future.

Gradually I started getting more information about art and art field and I joined renowned Sir. J.J. School of Art in 2007. Joining Sir. J.J. School of Art should be called a real start of my journey as an artist.

3. What kind of theme inspires you?

“If I want an identity of my own, I need to do something different from others”, This is my opinion, And this thought of mine always inspires me to draw portraits or illustrations. With this very thought, I get inspired to do something new, unique, and different in my work.

My brain always works on thinking of how to use the available shapes, colors, and other things differently in my illustrations. I keep on experimenting and discovering the ways of using things differently. Also, I love movies so I was inspired to draw portraits or illustrations from different characters in the movies.

4. What mediums do you usually work with and why?

I work in many mediums, digital, watercolor, oil color, acrylic color, pencil, pen, etc. I often work in digital because clients demand more digital media for commercial work required for advertising, so as a commercial artist I have to work more in digital.

5. How did your art evolve?

To create unique and masterpieces of art, an artist must be devoted to his art. This is why I always practiced art, constantly experimenting and practicing, And constantly going in search of something new. Also studied the art journey of many great artists.

As well as being a professional artist one must have knowledge of different cultures of the world. I constantly traveled to different places in the country, studied people from different regions, studied their nature, and learned from them. In this way, my art gradually developed.

6. Who is your favorite artists and why?

This question is a bit difficult to answer because I like a lot of artists, but I like Picasso, Keki Moose, Norman Rockwell, Jung Gi Kim, MF Hussein, I like these artists and their work. Because these artists were very passionate and lived for art.

7. What message would you give to aspiring artists?

For creating unique and best works of art an artist needs to be loyal to art, loyal to his/her creativity. Regular experiments with various mediums, strokes, color schemes, innovative combinations, subjects, concepts, etc. I would say, innovative creativity is the real identity of an artist. A very important tip for artists or illustrators - “keep sketching keep traveling”.

8. Which is your favorite book and why?

Picasso, in Marathi by Madhuri Purandare. This is my favorite book because this book is about artists who live for art.
