Chandan Anand - It started with Scoopwhoop and then I got my first web show "The Aam Aadmi Family" (Actor)

Chandan Anand

I have realized that acting is just like pursuing any other career. Hence one needs to ensure they are educated and well equipped to excel in this career. It's just that when one is taking up this career, you need to hone your acting skills, ensure you have a child-like vulnerability, physical fitness, looks, and most importantly a never-give-up attitude.

1.Tell us about your background and journey.

My journey is similar to every middle-class boy who grew up thinking engineering is the solution to everything, but it was not. So I started working in a corporate, then got bored then did MBA then again worked in Corporate except for this time everything was different. I was good at my job, valued, loved, and did start acting on a part-time basis by working in youtube videos.

It started with Scoopwhoop and then I got my first web show "The Aam Aadmi Family", but still that was not the trigger for me to leave my job. But in the next 2 years and a few webs shows later, I realized that now is the time to switch. It's now or never, and in November 2018 I had put down my papers and shifted to Mumbai.

2. Did you ever think or dream of being an actor?

I dreamt about it all the time, It's just that I never had the guts to take the plunge and pursue what I love full time.

3. How can one approach their career and have the confidence and belief to become an actor?

I have realized that acting is just like pursuing any other career. Hence one needs to ensure they are educated and well equipped to excel in this career. It's just that when one is taking up this career, you need to hone your acting skills, ensure you have a child-like vulnerability, physical fitness, looks, and most importantly a never-give-up attitude.

4. If not this, what would you be doing?

I would still be working as a Management Consultant for which I studied.

5. For a complete outsider with inroads, what advice would you like to give?

Give yourself the freedom to fail and embrace rejections. Everything will help increase your experience and please work on your craft.

6. What is your mantra of success?

Constant learning and trying to replicate the same in my acting.

7. Which is your favorite book and why?

I have just started reading books and from whatever I have read so far "Notebook" by Nicholas Sparks. The reason is that it's the kind of surreal love story I wanted to have.
