Sukhi Kaur - I Always Dreamed Of Being An Actor, And My Dream Come True When I Got An Opportunity To Work In Big Movies Like Yamla Pagla Dewanna 2 & Bellbottom (Actor)


 
I was with casting agencies and did a lot of work in music videos and drama series such as waterloo road, river city, love me to death Hollywood movie 83 the film Bollywood movie starring Ranveer Singh playing Kapil dev shot in Scotland and Akshay Kumars Bellbottom are the most recent movies I’m featured in, I have also debuted as a singer, my first release was a devotional song released by series.


1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I have come from a Sikh traditional strict background, I was born in Glasgow Scotland, and I had grown up watching, Bollywood and Hollywood movies, every night I would sit with my grandparents with my siblings watching the latest movies out. I always wanted to be on tv as a child and loved Salman khan movies as I am a huge fan and always wanted to work with him.

My journey began from the mandir Hindu Gujarat temple south meadow lane in Preston I'm so lucky and truly blessed to have started my journey at the mandir, where I would dance on stage at the mandir for events such as Indian republic day, charitable events and on festivals.

Also doing Miss Great Britain beauty pageants in England and across the country. I was with casting agencies and did a lot of work in music videos and drama series such as waterloo road, river city, love me to death Hollywood movie 83 the film Bollywood movie starring Ranveer Singh playing Kapil dev shot in Scotland and Akshay Kumars Bellbottom are the most recent movies, I’m featured in, I have also debut as a singer, my first release was a devotional song released by T-Series.



2. Did you ever think or dream of being an actor?

I have dreamed of being an actor since I was a child. Being famous and successful in movies was always a dream, that fire and passion grew stronger as more opportunities came my way with Bollywood move working in Big movies like yamla Pagla dewanna 2, Bellbottom, these were supporting artist roles but I was very grateful to be a part of these movies.



3. How can one approach their career and have the confidence and belief to become an actor?

Every individual that wants to be an actor should sign up with good and well-known casting agencies that will get them good work and work hard when they have the opportunity.

I think one must believe in themselves first because if you believe in yourself the whole world will believe in you!

Confidence is a skill set and it is important to be confident so when you walk in a room you have an impact on people.


4. If not this, what would you be doing?

I would be teaching yoga, and become a motivational speaker on healing yourself and on health and fitness and well-being mindfulness



5. For a complete outsider with inroads, what advice would you like to give?

To follow your heart and dreams and don’t give up surround yourself with positive people and keep a positive mindset to achieve your goals and dreams push your self to achieve aim higher and higher and higher.


6. What is your mantra of success?

My mantra for success is confidence. Confidence is the key to success and being happy, calm and peaceful within, to let success flow in your life.


7. Which is your favourite book and why?

Romeo and Juliet as I love the romantic story of them and while reading the book I’m learning script reading.
