Conclusion
Instead of trying to find out the answer of when middle age starts, we would be better off asking with ourselves why we so obsessed cutting off growth?
For example, if a person is considered as "old" in the 1920s at the age of 55 is now considered "middle-aged" today. A person who considered "elderly" at the age of 65 in the 1920s is now considered just "old" today, and "elderly" shifts from 65 in the 1920s to 76 at present. Does that mean middle age expands, well it might be true because due to urbanization people are living a healthier lifestyle and taking care of themselves.

Yes, research will something tell us but we should not forget that age is just a number. we should feel young from the heart which eventually slows down ageing or at least reflects it.
