1. Tell us more about your background and journey.

Like every kid from a small town Shahkot - Punjab I also had big dreams. First I aspired to be a software engineer and then the time came when I discovered my passion for visual effects and video direction. I started spending plenty of hours creating the perfect image and scene. Soon my passion for video direction converted into a profession.


2. How and when did you realize your passion for directing videos?

Along with my studies, I continuously focused on shot designing and shooting techniques. During those experiments, I shot my first music video in 2016 and that got a really good response. Till today I see new aspects and learn new things in life because I think every day is a new learning!


3. What are the important skills one should have to be a successful director? 

Perfect imagination, Management and patience.


4. Which films and videos do you appreciate the most for their direction?

There are several films and videos which are awarded for their respective categories, but I think every video reel has its appreciation value. Still, if I have to mention, I would say Tarsem Singh Dhandwar’s film “Immortals” and Tom Tykwer’s “Perfume”. I feel both movies directed very beautifully.


5. What has been the biggest learning from your job?

Punctuality and patience.


6. Which is your most memorable video direction till now?

One of my songs “MISS YOU ENA SARA”. It was the most loved romantic song of the year 2018 which clocked more than 44 million views on YouTube till now. That was the most memorable video till now because it was a challenging task for me to render the final output from pre-production to post-production within 30 hours of time frame.


7. Who is your inspiration to be a video director?

As I mentioned Tarsem Singh Dhandwar’s work gives me a lot of inspiration to work hard and achieve that level. He inspires me that dreams from small towns do come true.


8. Which is your favourite book and why?

I don’t read books much. But yeah, Storybooks always attracted me a lot. Saadat Hasan Manto’s stories are my favourites. His stories always take me into an image of the retro era.

Bunny Singh was born and raised in Shahkot, Punjab. He finished his schooling from St. Manu’s convent school and Skyway Public School, Shahkot. No one was in his family has a background of video directional field. So he started his journey as student of Information technology and computer science from Doaba College Jalandhar. Then he moved to Singapore for studies. After sometime he found his passion towards video direction and postproduction. He shot his first music video in 2016. From that day he directed number of music videos and commercials.
