All that matters was how you take and react to different situations in your life and what good you are doing for society to make it a better place. So we had contestants from across India and the globe and I was glad enough to make it to Top 30 amongst all.
1. Tell us about your background and journey.
So I born in Dehradun spent my school in college days Dehradun, I started my job at a very early stage I think I was 17 when I started to manage different events in doon so that’s my first job and from there till here I am working now it’s been many years I love to do the job or any work which makes me independent because I think the first step of independent women is to be financially secured.
2. What was your experience in the beauty contest?
Firstly I never ever thought I would do something like this in life but as they say "Best things in Life are Unplanned and Unpredictable". I have been doing Radio and each and every year I try to add new learnings. I got to know about this beauty pageant "Miss India Brainy beauty" where your age, weight, height doesn't matter.
All that matters was how you take and react to different situations in your life and what good you are doing for society in order to make it a better place. So we had contestants from across India and the globe and was glad enough to make it to the Top 30 amongst all.
3. Why did you chose RJ as a career and what were the first steps you took for it?
From childhood radio excite me a lot I love when radio jockeys came on-air and talk about various stuff, so I started my career by doing an internship in Redfm only in which I am currently serving as a Morning show host in my own city it gives a fearless feel to speak one cannot stand on road and speak their heart because of the current scenario and no one will listen to it, Mic provide my that audience which are listening to me and somehow my words are effecting their lives.
4. What challenges can one face during live calls?
Callers are the backbone of any radio show, without any feedback how one can assume people are connecting with my content or not, if I talk about challenges so there is not much because people behave well on calls they never disrespect anything or even they have that audacity to talk in a good manner even if they are not agreeing with what I am saying so it’s a good thing to receive different opinions on the show.
5. What are the skills required to be a radio jockey?
Many Radio people can tell you thousand thinks about it, but I must tell you that knowledge is the key, if someone called on your show and talking about some city related issue and you are not aware of that thing so will sound clueless on radio, so one should have a deep knowledge of the city whatever is going on read local newspapers daily.
With that, you should also have the knowledge what is goind nationally or internationally with gives you more to talk about and knowledge is the key to open your creativity and second thing I suggest is language one must have command on their language with proper pronunciation of words that’s very important and you should be spontaneous anything can come to you anytime so be ready with all your contacts.
6. Does one also need to be technologically savy in your career?
Yes, as per the current scenario you should be aware of social media, and apps because it also the tool to show the world what you are doing because if I am on radio the people of particular city is listening to me but social media gives the global approach to the content and yes you have to be tech savy because the software we use in radio industry are very difficult.
7. What makes a person connect with their audience as an RJ?
Design Radio content our show is very easy if your ears are open I never put headphones on if I go to public places because I want to listen what people are talking what are their issues on what they want us to speak as long as a Radio Jockey is speaking what people are think it will definitely give you the personnel connect with the audience.
8. Which is your favourite book?
Recently I came across a book “it’s not how good you are, it’s how good you want to be” by Paul Arden and I want to suggest that book to your readers to because that book answers most of the question what humans think in their mid-life when they want to grow more but couldn’t find the way so that book will help you to show the good path.
