I would like to emphasize especially on home remedies as well as exercises which can be done at home without going to the gym. You just give priority to your health and spare at least one hour for yourself.
The most important advice, I want to give everyone is to stop comparing themselves with others. The biggest misconception about fatness among people is “stop eating food”. Kindly don’t listen to these things. Have a proper meal (take all three meals of the day). Stay hydrated, drink juices and smoothies, eat green veggies. But don’t starve yourself. Be Kind to yourself.
1. Tell us more about yourself and your journey.
I’m 23 years old, born and brought in Delhi. My father was in the Indian Army and we are having a disciplined environment at home. As I’m the youngest child in my family, so they are always linnet to me because of that I’m also having the flexibility to do experiments in my career. During my school days, I didn’t take any interest in sports but just after finishing graduation, I realized the importance of fitness in my life.
You can only achieve things in life if you are sincere rather than serious. Being a lazy guy, it was hard for me to take up the challenge of working on my physique. Initially, I struggled a lot because I hadn’t had neither knowledge nor any guidance from the trainer. But my interest starting building more and more when I started getting results.
As I can see the changes happening in my physique led me to push my limits. Every time while working out, I used to challenge my capabilities, and hence, I was able to transform my physique in such a short duration. This transformation not only changes my physical strength but also gave me confidence. Apart from the physical strength, it also gives me emotional strength as life is full of ups and downs.
I tried different approaches to my fitness so that I can maintain my consistency as well as interest. I want to give this advice to everyone that in fitness, everybody has a different physique, so one recipe of exercises will not work for all. A person should know which exercise and diet schedule should follow to achieve their fitness goal.
The major problem with everyone is consistency because it is the only way to get succeed. Most people, they do hard work but there is no meaning in hard work when a person is not consistent with their routine as it ends with no results. Thus, people often feel demotivated.
2. What is your fitness mantra?
I usually wake up early in the morning from there my routine starts. I give at least 1-2 hours in the gym and do my exercising according to my daily routine chart. In my daily routine chart, I used to mention which exercise should be done on what day. As we all are gadget freaks, so it easy to keep track of your routine and set alarms to your hourly routine such as drinking water because it is so important to keep your body hydrated.
Keeping track of your routine is one of the things which I like the most because once you start doing it, you don’t know when it becomes your habit and then after a period of time, you get so used to it that you never forget to miss anything. I always emphasize small things to achieve goals in my life. Because if you are able to accomplish small goals, then you feel more confident and there is a sense of achievement that makes you happy at the end of the day.
So, lastly, I would like to say everyone has a different mantra but instead of following others, make one for yourself. Keep yourself motivated and inspired by others but do some creativity on your own so that you feel good and stick to it.
3. What are some of the major misconceptions about their diets and exercises?
There are lots of misconceptions people have. Firstly, they (especially boys) think that they can build a muscular body just by drinking protein. People think it’s easy to make muscular biceps within a short span. But the real story is lots of heavy workouts, routine exercises, and a proper diet are needed. All these things which I just mentioned must be done daily.
The second misconception is supplements, but the reality is supplements can destroy your physique badly if either its consumption is high or it is of bad quality. There should be proper consultation from a gym trainer if anybody wants to take supplements.
Even so many good bodybuilders take steroids but I suggest not to take them as it is risky. Lastly, I would say if you want to really work on your physique, kindly give your 100% efforts rather than being dependent on steroids for fast results.
4. How can one maintain a healthy lifestyle?
In the era of digitalization, everybody is spoiling their routine. Most of the youths have habits of waking up till late at night and wakes up in the afternoon of the next day. Even if they are interested to make habits, they always do procrastinate and hence, tomorrow never comes.
It is important to wake up early in the morning, so that person feels active all day and it also makes their day large as compare to their late-night routines. Being part of the youth generation, I also agree with workload and late-night studies or office work. So, what I would like to advise is that even if you are not able to wake up early in the morning, that’s perfectly fine but be consistent.
What I mean with the consistency is that try to give at least an hour from your hectic schedule matter if it is day or not. What matters is that at least you are giving time to improve yourself.
Apart from the exercises, a healthy lifestyle also means you need to take proper nutrition in your diet. Healthy food also helps in enhancing the quality of our mental health. I would also like to break the stereo typicality here that fitness is all about a good physique, but no priority is good mental health. If you are mentally healthy, the rest will be only fun.
5. How can one build a successful career in your field?
I have a personal opinion on this question; I think there are lots of resources available on the internet through which anyone can learn. This is a domain where consistency, hard work, efforts, time, most importantly passion are required. The good thing about this field is no one, seriously no- one can force you to be in that field because if you are not interested, you are not able to make it till the end or for a longer period of time.
You’ll start finding the shortcuts but interestingly, there are no shortcuts or any resources available which guarantee to give you results (without consistency) in a short span. So, keep following your routine daily, keep educating yourself daily, keep interacting with trainers, and have at least basic knowledge. Once you feel that you have basic knowledge and going well.
Then, to pursue a career in it, you can train yourself under a good gym trainer. Apart from it, a person can also get a certification course and make their knowledge authentic. With a certification in hand, they can also lead their profession solely in fitness and can earn a good amount of wealth. So, I encourage people who want to see their future in this domain.
6. What is one piece of advice you would like to give someone who wishes to lose weight?
As pandemic has exacerbated our lives and most of the time we spend at home. So, I would like to emphasize especially on home remedies as well as exercises which can be done at home without going to the gym.
7. How do diets and exercise contribute to overall wellbeing and happiness?
Actually, this is an important as well as an interesting question, most often it happens that people only relate exercise to their fitness without considering diet as a main role. So, both diet and exercises have a major contribution to our physical as well as mental fitness. There are so many research papers or I should say it is scientifically proven that a healthy diet keeps you active throughout the day.
And logically, if you are active all along your day, it is easy to achieve your goals without putting in so much effort. And this ends with a sense of achievement which makes you proud and makes you happy. If we see another way around, if you are happy, then you also keep your surroundings happy. So, if there is no anxiety, no frustration but only happiness, then it keeps you satisfied in your life and you always try to urge for a more and better lifestyle.
