Psychology can be defined as “the study of how a person feels, thinks and behaves”. Every human is different physically as well as psychologically .While the physical variations can be attributed to the genes, climatic conditions or to the physical activity.
In order to understand the psychological differences there is no one right scientific approach rather we have theories that have been given time and again by psychologists after much practical experimentation.
There can be various reasons for the way a person behaves, they can mainly be characterized into five types- Biological, Cognitive, Developmental, Social and Personality and Mental Health and Physical Health.
These are the five domains of psychological attribute or can also be called as the pillars of psychology. When trying to understand psychology ,it is important to consider all these aspects along with other circumstantial aspects which fall apt to the situation.

These are the main attributes that are generally used by psychologists to understand the functioning of the behavior of person.
Concept of Situationism
There are other concepts like situationism as well that can contribute to the behavior of a person, situationism states that situations and circumstances in which one is placed influence one’s behavior. There can be more such factors that can apply to individual cases but to get a general understanding, we must mainly consider the five main domains.
Biological Attribute
The biological attribute is seen as an important factor especially when the patterns in a family are observed. This attribute looks into how the nervous system, hormones , genetic makeup affect the mental state of a person.
Cognitive Attribute
The cognitive attribute considers aspects like perception, thinking, intelligence, memory, etc. Some psychologists also argue that a person remembers things based on what he already knows , therefore aspects like expectations shall also be included in it as more expectations would mean working hard and ultimately it would lead to intelligence and memory.
Developmental Attribute
Another important factor to understand the psychology of a person is the developmental factor which includes the learnings of a person and the lifespan development, it basically refers to the development and the changes a person goes through when he grows.
Social and Personality Attribute
The social and personality attribute mainly includes the behavioral aspects of a person’s nature-personality, emotion, motivation, etc. Many psychologists believe that free will does not exit and the external factors have an important role in how a person reacts as well as how the personality of the person develops.
Mental and Physical Attribute
The fifth attribute focuses on the mental and physical health. It is important to acknowledge that mental health plays an equal role in the functioning of a person as much as physical health does. This attribute looks into stress, lifestyle and health of a person in order to understand how, why and what a person think.
