I belong to a lower-middle-class family, we've been through very very tough times but thanks to our parents they never let us feel that by any means. It has always been a forever struggle for us, be it emotionally, psychologically, or financially. Now, when finally our puzzle pieces started to fall into place, we lost our mum.
2. What led you to take up this career path?
To be honest, to financially support our family my mum started delivering Tiffin services from our home & we were bashed & continuously insulted by our relatives & neighbors for doing it.
They used to look upon us really down, they even told my mum that I won't achieve anything in my life & will end up being a maid. Funny thing this criticism followed me till my 11 & 12th in Vishakhapattanam but my mum and I decided to turn our Tiffin services into a grand restaurant.
3. What does your typical day looks like?
I'm now working with the ministry of rural development as a Chief Assessment Officer which includes lots of tours but along with that I visit clinics, do my practice, cook meals, do my workout, shoot recipes and try to be happy with whom I have. As after losing mum recently times has been really tough for us.
4. Does one's approach change when cooking professionally and at home?
I believe it does change as when you are cooking at home one can adjust or compromise with a little bit of taste difference but when one is paying for their meal undoubtedly the person would look & ask for perfection & I don't feel there's anything wrong in that, I would do that but then also as I mention every time every single people have different palates.
5. Is there a dish you particularly associate yourself with?
I totally associate myself with my mum's Raw Mango Dal, that's my favorite dish too also the Dallas is fully packed up with flavors, it has that sourness, sweetness, a little spicy, smooth, and a bit salty to highlight everything just Like Me. All in One.
6. Can cooking be learned at culinary schools or natural talent is required?
What I believe is that no person on this earth is born without any talent. It's my mum's favorite line & it's true. Also in whatever field you work, whatever you do, whatever you want to pursue or achieve each & everything is an amalgamation of
10%Talent, 10% passion, 20% focus, 20% Dedication, 10% Luck, 10% Opportunity & 20% Hard work.
7. Which is your favorite book and why?
I love Sudha Murty's Three Thousand Stitches because it Motivates me not to give up, not to get scared or feared. Honestly when life backs you down a good book can always lift you up.
