I work generally across the board in the industry. Recording and Performing for Bollywood, as well as creating music with various independent artists in Rock, Jazz, Pop, World Music, and Heavy Metal with releasing singles and albums and of course working with various Indian Classical Maestros.
1. Tell us about your background and journey.
Born and brought up in Mumbai India, I have been fooling around with the drums since he was 8 years old and took it up seriously at the age of 15. I am the son of Louiz Banks, India's legendary jazz pianist and composer. I toured Australia and China with my fathers' indo-jazz fusion band Sangam playing percussion when he was just 9 years old.
I am a versatile musician, this trait leads him to perform all over the world as well as doing studio work with artists and bands of all types of genres from Bollywood to Jazz to Rock, Metal to Funk, Fusion to Latin, and more!
An in-demand musician, I am also a producer, arranger and run my own studio production - Double Shift Productions - Specialising in recording drums.
A big advocate of music education - I along with my wife Eden run Various Music Education platforms - Algorhythm Drums, Nova School Of Music, and Da. Feat as well as being an Advisor and Adjunct Faculty at the NMIMS School Of Performing Arts.
2. Who inspired you to make music?
My father first and then all the musicians. I grew up being around and then aspiring to be like my favourite musicians from around the world. They are always a constant inspiration for me to create music.
3. How would you describe the music that you typically create?

4. Who is your favorite artist and why?
My father, Louiz Banks because he embodies a true artist and a beautiful person all in one.
5. Can you throw some light on opportunities one gets as a singer?
Practice singing in good pitch and developing good rhythm along with learning many songs across many genres. Once you have developed a certain level of skill you can use social media for people to listen to your voice and watch you perform.
6. Is format training required or can one train themselves purely on the basis of talent?
Formal training is not required but it will help. Talent can only take you so far, Hard Work is more important and some expert guidance by professionals always help you to take your craft further.
7. What piece of advice would you like to give to future and aspiring artists?
Be true and honest with your music. Avoid shortcuts and put in the work on the content as it will be more beneficial to your career path and also it will help you build rich and high-quality content that will stand the test of time. Stay in pitch, stay in time and bring the vibe.

My current book - A Symphony Of Love by Ashis Ghatak.
