Julie Fiore - Retro Style Is Directly Connected With History, Which I Simply Adore and Discover (Blogger from Ukraine)

Julie Fiore

For me, retro is about femininity, refinement, and elegance. And retro was associated with a certain age for me - it’s a young woman, not a girl, so I spent time to start wearing it.

1. Tell us something about your upbringing and journey.

I just follow my heart for, long time I was learning how to listen to myself, my inner true self. Now I can and do this, every time opening something new in me I’m surprised and happy, but know - it’s just a start.

2. What inspired you to transition from modern to vintage style?

I tried a lot of different styles, but retro was always a style to which I knew that I would come sooner or later. The fact that you can dress every day like in old films, I understood when I saw Dita von Teese for the first time, it was in 2007 and it was an arrow in my heart, I understood that when I will grow up and turn into this young elegant woman, I will definitely dress like this. And all these years Dita was always an inspiration and idol. So thank you, Dita, you are the queen.

3. What fascinates you about retro?

Retro style is directly connected with history, which I simply adore and discover. For me, retro is about femininity, refinement, and elegance. And retro was associated with a certain age for me - it’s a young woman, not a girl, so I spent time to start wearing it.

5. From a clinical psychologist to a vintage model, how did this happen?

I was always an artist. The medical university was ‘’official education’’ and doesn’t matter what I was doing I always was doing some art. To help people is my mission too, it’s just me - mixed from different interests and talents.

6. Tell us something about your blog.

I see my blog on Instagram as artistic inspiration. I’m sharing different practical things as Vintage Hairstyle Tutorials, the history of fashion, and how to create a look in a vintage way, but, for me, my blog about the vintage vibe, atmosphere, inspiration for creating smth beautiful and time travel, of course. My YouTube Blog is more practical - I’m sharing their Vintage Hairstyle Tutorials, showing my wardrobe, and speaking about the History of Fashion.

7. Who is your favorite style icon and why?

From nowadays Dita von Teese and a lot of vintage bloggers! But I’m receiving truly inspiration, searching for ideas, and educate myself with Icons of Golden Screen, vintage photos, and fashion magazines. My favorite actresses are Grace Kelly, Marilyn Monroe, Marlene Dietrich, Brigitte Bardot.
