Nazil - It Can Be an Active Career as You Won't See a Lot of Competition. Everyone's Working and Everyone's Working Together in Fact (Food Blogger from India)

In my opinion, Food Blogging requires a lot of effort. Like you should have great taste buds, first of all, you have to have a good camera or phone to click pictures. If your pictures are dull then you can always make them appealing by editing. I think, all this comes in time.

1. Tell us about your background and journey?

I came from a very normal conservative Muslim Family but when my parents saw I had different interests like Food Blogging, Food Reviews, Food Photography, Product Reviews, Product Photography, Skincare/Healthcare they started supporting me.

They enjoy and envy how I go to different places to try their food and I get paid to review food. Cool, isn't it? They always brag about it in front of my relatives. Also, it's been a tough journey, in the beginning, I didn't know how Food Blogging works, I asked different people, I got thrashed for asking. I felt embarrassed, I wanted to leave at some point.

I never called myself a Food Blogger until I joined a group of Bloggers. If they wouldn't have let me in, I would have left Food Blogging. I found them very lively and passionate about their work. It feels good to be around such people. The real reason for doing Food Blogging was gaining weight coz I heard junk can help you gain weight. I was very skinny in my teens. How dumb I was? But I don't regret it anymore.

2. Which is your favorite cuisine and dish?

I'm a big fan of Dal Makhani, Biryani, Potato Twisters, Jamun Shots, Waffles, and Pancakes. I can never resist them. I go crazy whenever I see my favorite dishes.

3. Should food blogging be just a passion or can it become a regular career?

In my opinion, Food Blogging requires a lot of effort. Like you should have great taste buds, first of all, you have to have a good camera or phone to click pictures. If your pictures are dull then you can always make them appealing by editing. I think, all this comes in time.

It can be an active career as you won't see a lot of competition. Everyone's working and everyone's working together in fact. You're individual is a food blogger, in a group, you're still a food blogger. You have two ways to earn.

4. Which restaurants/food joints would you recommend to food lovers?

I love going to fancy restaurants but I also love street food and everyone has different choices but I still love to suggest some cafes. If you love nonveg dishes like me, Go to Nafees and Chik-n-serve, Pizza Lovers head to Mangosteen Cafe, for some fancy fusion dishes go to Not So Desi, Waffles, and More has my favorite Waffles, 99 pancakes serve the best Pancakes in Town. Mukki ke Zayke for some great Coffee. All these places are in Indore.

5. What makes you appreciate a particular dish or a restaurant and talk about it on your blog?

Not a lot of people know this but I love drinking more and eating less. Like I need something to drink when I'm eating. I also fancy a good mocktail. I would love to talk about Peru Meru served by 578 SkyBar. It's a Guava Flavored Pulpy Mocktail, it's sweet-tangy and spicy in taste. I've never had such a delicious and unique mocktail ever in my life.

6. Is there a dish you particularly associate yourself with?

I really associate myself with Sheer Khurma or Sevaiya Kheer. Like people always asked me to make Sheer Khurma for them. Whenever a friend or a stranger knows that I'm Muslim, at some point in life, they always ask for Sheer Khurma on Eid or after Eid or anytime. It's unpredictable. You should also try Sheer Khurma made by me.

7. Which is your favorite book and why?

I don't read a lot of books. To be honest, not nerdy or like reading books but I'd love to read Horror and Greek Mythology.
