Onboarding must change its form and go digital, considering employee as an end user for HR services, onboarding is the first interaction and that need to be seamless and a button click away, now a days people can’t wait for few seconds of buffer and expect everything to be at a flash speed, so is onboarding, I see this as a revolution happening at every possible interaction of new hire as well as new customer acquisition also.

Hailing from a coastal city makes me fall in love with sea breeze and waters, born to the couple who always believed - rely on your own legs not on others hands, studied till PG in Vizag and then started to explore the domain in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Rayalaseema and finally married and settled in Hyderabad, travelled most of south India during professional and personal trips, love watching comics which brings in relaxation and also helps know how to make the impossible possible with tiny actions
How did you narrow down on this profession?
I believe, one should not lie to a doctor, lawyer and a HR. If lied, one will be at the losing end, I framed this principle by observing each and every individual I came across. Mr. Surender reddy, a gentleman known to me suggested to pursue MBA and particularly HR, after a few long conversations with him I found strength in my inner capability and also his suggestion to become a HR professional, my mentors Prof. Dr. K Venkateswarlu & Prof. B.Balamurali, CII - Young Indians and college Personality development activities and particularly the HBR Journals & People matters information in college library helped me in shaping as a professional who I am today, I am forever indebted to their contributions in my life
It seems on-boarding, even in 2021 is a long drawn out process behind the scenes. How do you envision this changing in the future?

Google, Adobe and most MNCs have a strict policy around sharing ex-employee data. How can one approach background checks in this situation?
I see background checks as mandatory task for smooth sailing of business, because a wrong hire/bad apple will cause great loss for the business. A sincere background check positions employers as a responsible company, who cares for its employees as well as business partners, clients and vendors. Data which doesn’t harms employee’s confidence and also which is not confidential can be shared as appropriate, whereas the same company will need a BG to hire a candidate and how can they approach candidate’s previous organisation?
Several global companies have come out and thrown their support behind not needing a formal education. What is your opinion about this?
I support this move, but formal education gives knowledge and proper practical approach towards handling situation, I see there is a gap between industry and academia, this could be the main reason companies are scraping out education qualification as mandatory field in recruitment process and bridging the gap with crash courses for right candidate which brings one to the speed of others in the organization and getting the work done, educational qualifications will matter only as a primary check point for entry level jobs but for moving up in the ladder, one’s skill and ability should matter
What advice do you have for aspiring HR professionals?
HR profession is not a cost centre now, it’s a business partnering profession, and one should aspire in learning how the business functions, be it Supply chain, Sales, Technology, Media etc., provide inputs and decide on the optimization of resources and time… Presentability is the key anywhere
