Art has no rules. I am a self-taught singer. I like songs that give me happiness and make me smile. My genre is a fusion of Pop and Bollywood. I like to sing soothing songs more by the way.
1. Tell us about your background and journey.
I was born in Moradabad and brought up in Haldwani, Uttarakhand. I love this place and the environment that goes along with it. So far my journey has been beautiful and I feel so fortunate to have the right audience. I discovered that I can sing when I was in the fifth standard. My friends encouraged me a lot, which eventually helped me in succeeding in this field.
I was always fond of singing and knew that I had to do something about it. Well, I focused on my studies more than my singing in my school days but things got changed in college. I did my graduation with a B.Tech (CSE) from Birla Institute Of Applied Sciences, Bhimtal. I made good friends in college and got to know about many other artists like me.
We made a band and practiced a lot, gathered a lot of information, and learned so many things around it. By the end of the second year of my graduation, I realized that I need to take it further and have to build my career around it. I used social media which eventually helped me in expressing my talent around the world.
More and more people started loving my content which motivated me to create new content at a consistent pace. I was gaining followers on Instagram which got me the right kind of audience and I knew that I do not have to stop now. I was actually loving that time.
Still, I love making covers, and very soon I will be dropping my originals. My journey is so exciting and I still love that I made it this far. My audience and my family supported me a lot and I owe them my entire journey. Although I am still in this loop and learning new things every day.
2. What is it about music that makes you feel passionate?
The vibe that Music creates, Wow how can I describe it! It’s so wonderful I can’t even express it in words. Music heals your soul, gives you peace and spread positivity around you. It is one of the most beautiful and spiritual things in the world and that is what makes me passionate about it.
3. How would you describe your singing style or genre?
I am always a fan of the feelings involved in a song rather than the technicalities involved with it. The technical aspect of a song is important but I believe that feeling is the most important factor that defines a song.
Art has no rules. I am a self-taught singer. I like songs that give me happiness and make me smile. My genre is a fusion of Pop and Bollywood. I like to sing soothing songs more by the way.
4. Do you have any weaknesses that you're actively working to improve on?
Yes, I am not that great with the instruments and I am still learning them.
5. Who is your favourite artist that you admire and why?
Well, to be honest, there are plenty of them. But if I have to pick a single person, that would be none other than Arijit Singh. He himself is a genre and I love the way he sings, the feel he puts. He can sing anything and that’s what makes him unique. I have learned a lot of things by just listening to him. He is a school himself.
6. What message would you give to aspiring singers?
Everyone is so busy around trying to find on how to make a career in Singing and how to earn through it! I get a lot of messages like these every day. Just advice – make music with all your heart and the career thing will find its way automatically. The most important factor I believe is the consistency of the work you share with the world. Everything you make should be the best, that’s it.
