Still bearing the scars of that fateful case and dark secrets vowed to tell nobody, he joins hands with a young rising detective from a high profile background named Han JooWon who was transferred to the Manyang police substation in search for the same criminal.

“Who is the Monster? Is it you? Is it me? Is it us?”

But in their journey both come across secrets and situations that make them question the innocence of everyone around them who happen to get involved in the case, including themselves. Only time will tell what lies next.

First Impression - Drama Review

I was in ‘awe’ just knowing the drama was nominated for so many awards this year and made me think what is so special about it?. Curiosity had no patience and I immediately started watching it.

To no surprise the drama truly lived up to its expectations. In fact, it exceeds expectations and solidifies itself with marvellous work on character development.

It received immense positive reviews and was nominated for 7 Baeksang Arts Awards, winning 3 - Best Drama, Best Screenplay and Best Actor for Shin Ha-kyun. It was also selected as one of the final candidates for the Baeksang Arts Award Grand Prize - Television. Now, let me tell you why it's one of the underrated gems of 2021.

Though the drama did not receive many views while it was airing, soon after its nomination it became a big hit! Fans internationally and domestically were crazy about it. Just as one might have guessed right, its plot is very similar to the title.

The murders are vile and contemptible that you can’t help but feel so furious while watching the show. It’s a 16 episode long drama and personally speaking it did not disappoint me.

Every scene from the start to end was just right and had a proper ending while leaving huge space for suspense, successfully making the audience hold on to it and wait for the next.

The story has been structured in such a way that it is not easy to figure out but when you do, you will be disgusted by what you see.

I assure you the drama won’t gross you out but its crime can be difficult to swallow at times. However, embedded with skillful complications you will find many layers linked to one case as the drama progresses.

The Bottom Line

This is one type of kdrama that non-kdrama fans who love psychological thrillers can watch and will be glad they did. It is a complete masterpiece and a unique Korean thriller show you may not come across easily.

The many twists and turns, especially the stellar performances by the cast is what makes the viewers pay attention to details to catch on, only to find out your conclusion about who the killer is, was wrong.
