I was as young as 8 years old when I started writing journals and reading stories at every chance I got. This love led me to choose English Literature as my major subject in my bachelor's.
After my graduation in English literature from Manipal University Jaipur, I dived in to be a writer. The path somehow took turns and I ended up being a content writer instead and I have never looked back since.
My journey has been as gorgeous it could have been.
Tell us more about your background and journey.
I was born in the royal city of Jaipur 24 years ago and have lived here ever since. The city is home to some of the most majestic forts in the country that speaks loud of the tales of the times gone by. This is how I fell in love with stories and storytelling.
Riding on a roller coaster, being stuck in a monotonous job for 20 months, to shooting to fame and success because of LinkedIn, I am living the best life I could have. Being A Freelance Content Writer gives me the freedom to practice creativity and preach my skills while helping businesses and individuals to grow along with me.
When did you decide that you want to be a writer and how did you go about it?
I wanted to be a writer ever since I was a little girl. However, I did not think it would be my full-time job. I loved writing romance, poetry, and sonnets, but life took a turn and I became a full-time freelance content writer instead.
Right After my graduation, I started looking for writing jobs, found one, and took it. It was for a content writing position. I worked in the job for about 20 months, learned a lot about the technicalities of being a content writer, and then decided to go freelance full time.
LinkedIn has been the greatest blessing in it all. I started writing on LinkedIn without any strategy. After a couple of posts, one of my heartfelt posts went viral and I received a lot of leads. Since then I have been working each day to be a better writer and scale my growth.
Share some ways for people to build their personal brand?
Personal branding is easy but at the same time, it is absolutely difficult. To begin with personal branding, one should analyze and curate their story and their niche. A person talking about 10 different things at a time will not be able to establish a brand as strong as a person who is talking about one or a couple of niches.
After choosing the niche, the next step is of building a strategy. The strategy-building process is influenced by the platform you are working on. For example, LinkedIn is a text-based, professional social media platform. What works wonders here, will not work equally great on Instagram. Thus always consider the platform.
The last and the most important is consistency. Maintaining consistency is the only way to grow and it can be extremely tough at times. All one has to do to build a personal brand is to show up.
What advice would you like to give to people aspiring to join your field?
One golden piece of advice I would like to give to people who are aspiring to be freelance content writers is to take that first step. It’s ok if you do not know how to write an absolutely amazing piece. It’s ok if you do not have clients already. It is ok if you do not know where to begin from.

But it is not ok if you are not ready to hustle. Hustlers are the only ones who get to live their dream because your dream is your dream no one else will make it come true for you.
Which is your favorite book and why?
I have read tons of books. While there are some that are on the top of the list of my most liked ones, my favorite remains the same. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green is my favorite book and I bought its copy the very same day it was launched.

The reason I fell in love with this book is that it talks about living in fear of death but still wanting to chase that one dream this girl had for her life. She knew she might die tomorrow, but that never stopped her from working on her dream. This is the most inspiring thing I have learned from the book.
