Nitin Babu - Confidence Is Directly Proportional to Skills (Actor From India)

During my Engineering days, I saw my seniors performing Theatre plays and Nukad Natak which touched my soul, I was so fascinated and suddenly the child within me woke up and asks me to join them. I asked my seniors but they said Group is already full so I didn't get the chance.

Then I started making short videos for YouTube. I strongly believe that if your passion is bigger than your excuses then God provides you with the vision of seeing an Accurate path, I saw the shooting of a Punjabi movie on my campus, Trolley, Camera, lights, reflectors all massive setup was done just for a person who was standing Infront of Camera.

Tell us about your background and journey.

I am Nitin Babu, Rich’s thinker and full-time dreamer. My roots belong to a small Village called Paryote In the Doda district of Jammu & Kashmir. I completed my schooling in Jammu and moved to Chandigarh for Bachelors of Engineering in Civil. Thought I had no thought of becoming an Actor from my initial days. I used to participate in the school annual Functions just to Avoid lectures but unknowingly all this sowed the Seed of Art in me.

All I remember is that I just wanted to be different from others and being a child, you think everything is achievable, nothing seems difficult and this same thought made me fearless.

At that moment I decided that one day I will be the guy standing Infront of that camera. Then I started working on my skills, I started to read books and started practising but I needed a Guru who could teach me, guide me. Then I joined a professional theatre group and started doing some Actual Artwork.

While doing theatre I was growing as an artist my skills were improving but there was no source of income, after few months I got Placed in MNC as an Engineer. I started doing 9 to 5 jobs. Every time I used to remind myself that I am doing this job just for money so that I can survive when I will go to Mumbai.

And after doing a job for 2 years, I decided of quitting my job. Then I came to Mumbai and started giving auditions every day, I was failing every day but I was learning from failures. Then after doing some cameos, I cracked auditions for, Kasauti Zindagi kay, Vighnaharta Ganesha, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.

I am still on my journey and I am positively moving forward. Success is not the ultimate destination and failure is not the End of your efforts, both are the parts of the Journey but the most important thing is to keep learning.

Did you ever think or dream of doing a TV show?

When I was a kid, my career as an Actor was not in my mind. But when I took Acting seriously and started working on my skills, it was one of my goals to do a TV show.

How can one approach their career and have the confidence and belief to make it on a tv show?

Confidence is directly proportional to Skills. If you are working to become better it will definitely give you confidence, and if you are becoming good at your skills it will boost you to pursue a career in it.

If not this, what would you be doing?

I would be working as an Engineer.

Which of your TV show marked a turning point in your life?

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai show was the turning point for me.

What skills help you in creating a believable character and what advice do you want to give to the aspiring actors?

Characters are not imagery people; they are living around us. Just be a good observer. This practice helps me in making a believable character.

Keep working on your skills and believe in what you are doing is the only advice I would like to give to aspiring actors.

What is your mantra of success?

By not getting excited about the success and not getting demoralized in Failures is what keeps me going.
