Pavel - I Have Held 22 Personal Exhibitions In Different Countries of The World (Artist, Russia)


 

Someone can draw, and someone cannot but draw. As Bertoldo, Michelangelo's teacher, said: "...art is the lot of those who would have suffered without it." New searches for the harmony of color are carried away to work, the successful result of which gives a much-needed boost of energy to both the artist and the viewer. Both in music and painting.


1. Tell us about your background and journey.

Born in Yalta, Crimea in 1964. In 1983 he graduated from the Art Lyceum at the Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg. Member of the Union of Artists of Russia, member of the International Association of Fine Arts AIAP UNESCO. Honored Artist of the Republic of Crimea. The paintings are in the collections of museums, palaces-museums, in numerous private collections around the world, as well as in the collections of famous people: artists, politicians. 22 personal exhibitions were held in different countries of the world. Organizer of international plein airs and art exhibitions. I have my own art gallery.


2. When did you decide to pursue art?

From early childhood I saw how my father Shumov Vasily Pavlovich painted, we went to sketches together and it was so interesting and exciting for me that I did not even think about another profession.



3. What kind of theme inspires you and why?

I am inspired by а harmony of beauty, a play of color and light, anticipation of the next movement of light. Whether it's a portrait, landscape or still life.


4. What is your favourite colour medium and why ?

It is interesting to search for new shades in the picture every timе.


5. How do you stay positive to creat , as an artist?

6. What message would you give to aspiring artists?

If a young artist wants to achieve a result, then he should not stop there, and most importantly - understand why. Art is a continuous process.


7. Who is your favorite artist and why?

K. Korovin, N. Feshin, M. Vrubel.

It is in the paintings of these artists that I see the harmony of color I am looking for and receive a charge of energy.
