It is not often that we find exorcist occult Korean dramas being made in the Korean entertainment industry that are as incredible as this one. I know ghosts and vengeful spirits have become too old fashioned but we still enjoy and love watching them, don’t we?.
Now let me tell you why this drama is a must watch for the year 2021 after Beyond Evil (2021). And yes, I will try my best to not give spoilers.

Synopsis
The story revolves around a woman named Hong Ji-a who has inherited exorcism abilities from her mother and is the next owner of Daebak Reality.
One fine day, Ji-a meets a man named Oh In Bum who specializes in exorcism fraud, an easy ladder to climb, earn wholesome money and live a lavish life. Late at night when the reality operates, In Bum visits Ji-a to make an offer.
He suggests they team up and work together to exclusively sell houses that are haunted by vengeful sprites or lingering ghosts. It stands to see if two utterly opposite personalities can get along well to accomplish a common goal and deal with house prices, ghosts, their sorrowful stories and various traps they find themselves stuck in.
First Impression - Show Review
When the news about this drama and its production was first out it did not elicit any excitement. Nonetheless, I waited till its trailer was out. Since trailers speak more than news articles and provide a better gist of the context and concept of the drama.
To my notice, the trailer was enough to build suspense and being a fan of the thriller, especially supernatural genre, I watched the show. Giving you a brief sneak peak: the drama will delight its viewers simply with its series of compelling cases, most of which are connected to each other.
Each spirit being exorcised comes with its own backstory and places they are confined to. The fact that Ji-a can see the traces these spirits leave behind and feel her body temperature running down on its existence nearby was enough to make me fixated on the show. It is rare to see an exorcist like her.
But that’s not it, Oh In Bum comes with a special character too. He is a psychic. Psychics are considered as people whom spirits can possess easily. They have to be protected by a particular stone necklace to avoid getting possessed every now and then as spirits are only visible to the exorcists.
However, In Bum is a special psychic who also has the abilities of an exorcist. Another ability is that of being able to get Ji-a’s body temperature back to normal after performing an exorcism.
How he came to develop them is unknown. On performing the exorcism, exorcists can see a vision of the spirits' last memory but such things always come with side effects.
The drama also entails humorous characters played by a wonderful cast line making it pure in nature. The emotional, mysterious and sometimes chilled thrilling stories have kept the show’s beating heart from the start and is enormously compelling, commanded by skillful direction and effects. A show like this is one you can’t resist but watch!
Things You Will Love About Its Premiere
1. Daebak Reality - A unique reality
Ever heard about a reality that sells haunted houses and earns money while doing so? Well, I haven’t heard of one yet. The hook here is that it operates only at night. Probably because spirits can be better traced and exorcised at night.
2. The Fantastic Exorcist-Psychic Duo
As the drama progresses, in fact from the very start these two meet you will absolutely love them. Their relationship and overall character development is the hook that will make you continue watching this show.
3. The mother-daughter talk time scenes

This is ‘the’ story line on which the whole drama is built. A huge pool of suspense revolves around her and why she wasn’t able to leave the world with peace. Ji-a is tortured by the fact she is not able to send her mother away. There are many other aspects to both sides of their story which I will leave for you to watch.
4. Bad times don’t last long - Spoiler Alert!
Hong Ji-a finally pays a visit to her mother. By this time the exorcism has been performed and Ji-a has accepted the truth that her mother’s spirit is no more in the world. Unfortunately she has lost her exorcist abilities.

It’s a Goodbye!
Dramas are known for their happy endings with the main/lead couples or duos finding solace in each other or their relationship. Their bond has grown and matured so much that it will make you cry. You will only wish to watch more of them.
(Spoiler Alert!)
After sending her mother’s spirit to the spiritual world Ji-a decides to go on a trip to find ways to bring back her exorcist abilities. She is now sure that this is the profession she is best at.
One year later, Ji-a returns to Daebak Reality, although it's made pretty much clear she has regained her abilities you may still find yourself confused. This is the last scene, the reality is back in business and both have already taken up a job to sell another haunted place.
The Bottom Line
The drama will not be disappointing but at some instances you may feel agitated when the pieces just don’t connect and curiosity may eventually make you binge watch the show.
