Yet another love story! I exclaim as I begin reading this book. The points which attracted me to this book were Blackberry plays cupid here (Now this is interesting!!) the cover page is too beautiful and mushy. I love love stories and of course in today’s times when Facebook plays a huge role in creating love stories “It started with a friend request” definitely sounded alluring.

But still, I find that not every sentence is as crisp and perfect as it should be. He has great thoughts but as soon as he starts writing them, he writes like a Desi Guy and not like an epic writer.
The story is wonderful. As the title says, I presumed that it's the same crap that some debutante write about how Facebook stalking helped them get a girlfriend with whom they went through misunderstandings and patch-ups. But I was wrong.

Sudeep has just mentioned in one paragraph that they added each other on BBM and directly met after that. Thank God! I could not have survived any cliche by him at this stage. There are no monosyllabic or mono-sentences chats pages after pages but a sweet romance story that will make you imagine the protagonist after every sentence.
Even when there's a mention of the messages that the protagonists send to each other, they are more than half-page long which makes it a mini love-letter than a boring usual conversation that we do with our partner on daily basis.

About the Book:
When this book was in the review list my first thought was to add it to my list as the other books I had selected were kind of a heavy read and I needed a light read to balance it off somewhere. And I was not disappointed. This is a nicely written light read which leaves you with a pleasant feeling after you have completed reading it.
The story is about Akash and Aleesha, two youngsters who meet in a discotheque and experience love at first sight. The major portion of the book is about their love story, how it progresses, the proposal, the first kiss, the first fight, the making up, etc
The story is about Aleesha and Kritika – Soul sisters cum best friends cum roommates
The story is about Akash and Aditya – Best friends till death do us apart.
The story is also about Tamanna and Deep – with the former being the latter’s boss. Alternate chapters have portions where Tamanna’s one-sided love for Deep touches you deeply.
The story is about one night – one incident – that changes the lives of all these people along with their loved ones.
As the story progresses you witness Akash’s love, Aleesha’s immature nature, Tamanna’s obsession, and Deep’s practicality. You experience the other things that come along with love like hatred, jealousy, insecurity, hurt, anger, passion, joy, and loads of other similar things.
I loved the poems which Tamanna had written for Deep for they were too profound. They show how deeply she felt for him which finally turned into an obsession for her. I also admired the way Akash dealt with his relationship issues with Aleesha.
The author has managed to create a very good romantic ambiance in terms of the description and the language of the book. The flow of the story is very smooth and at places, I was smiling reading the romantic lines. Having been working in the corporate world I could relate to the turmoil mentioned by both Tamanna and Deep, for it is what happens in today’s times. I enjoyed the characters a lot as they seemed to be so relatable. They could easily be any one of today’s youth.
At some places, I found the lovemaking scenes out of context. I mean that scene could have done the same or perhaps better without it. Overall a decent read is recommended for people who enjoy light reads and prefer romance as a genre.

My Review:
Some stories are just so-so. You love some places and you don’t like some places at all. I’m not a die-hard romantic, but I do like love stories. This one is probably for the die-hard romantics.
Right… what I liked is the concept of friendship in the book. What Kritika is to Aleesha, and Aditya is to Akash, the narration of that was nice to read. It made me feel happy to see such friends. Another thing was that the novel wasn’t too mushy. It was stretching from love to sickly sweet love, but I didn’t feel like it crossed over.

I like the concept of true love that is portrayed. The ending warranted that, and it got it. Some parts to ponder over, positively… the way Akash expresses his love for Aleesha, the notes of love of each character, and the twists. But I feel this novel when looked at with a little depth, is more about the exploration of relationships than just a love story.
The narration from different points of view of characters was also a nice touch, and it felt right in place from the prologue to the introduction chapters. The overall pace of the story was quick, and I could finish it in a few hours.
I haven’t read much of Sudeep’s work, but I think I will read his first two sometime as well. As for this novel, it’s a decent book. It wasn’t the story of an online relationship after all. It’s a one-time read for me, and a book that is best for travel.
My rating for this book is 4/5
