Every creator is unique in their own way
1. Tell us about your background and journey, and when did you first decide that you wanted to create content and how did you start?
I have a degree in interior designing but by profession, I'm a content creator on instagram and youtube. My journey is quite something to be honest, I didn't apply makeup on myself up till college. 4 years of college, I did basic makeup but turns out I was good at it.
So, when I was done with college, I put up some makeup tutorials which the audience connected with, BOOM BAM, I was excited because I absolutely love makeup. Keep in mind, I had no idea what content creation even was.
When covid hit, I gave more time to makeup, the videos, the concepts and that's when I discovered content creation and the scope it has. August 2020, I took up being a makeup content creator full time and what can I say? I converted my passion into work. Couldn't ask for more.
2. Is vlogging and YouTube content creation a financially sustainable career?
Yes, it is. But just like any other career path, you have to give your all and be passionate about it. It takes up a lot of time. You basically are your own photographer, videographer, editor, writer, everything. Atleast at the beginning. But if you give it your all, you'll see the returns.
3. Who is your favorite creator and why?
I don't have one favourite creator. I love tons of creators and their work. Every creator is unique in their own way. I love Danielle Marcan for her range of looks, from edgy to girlie to e-girl to goth. She got it all.
There's Hiba (@hhbomberr) who is amazing at transitions, you can call her the transition queen. There's the evergreen komal pandey, everything about her is love.
4. How and where do you find inspiration to churn out content?
I draw out inspiration from other content creators and everything I see around me. If you notice the world around you, you'll see art and you can derive inspiration from basically everywhere.
5. What does your typical day look like?
Wake up, emails, breakfast, shower, shoots, meetings, lunch, calls, editing, gym, back home, edit, netflix and sleep.
6. Which is your favorite book and why?
Ikigai. I was going through a really sad phase in my life when I discovered this book and it saved me.
7. What piece of advice would you like to give to future and aspiring creators?
Be passionate. Be curious. Passion will never make it feel like you're working. Curiosity will keep you informed about everything around you. The trends, the changes that keep taking place, the upcoming content. It'll really take you places.
