Jaanvi Taneja - Explore Yourself, Know What You’re Capable of (Digital Creator From India)

I am Jaanvi Taneja, the founder and CEO of PIOUS CLASSES. 

I have been teaching for about 5.5 years now. When I was just 17 years old, I began this journey because of my love for language. By far, I have helped thousands of students overcome their fear of speaking publicly. Additionally, I have trained various corporate employees and eased their professional journeys.

1.Tell us about your background and journey? 

Growing up, my parents didn't have a good grasp of English. As a result of their issue with the language, they were always considered themselves less worthy of opportunities. Having insecurities, they were worried their kids would inherit those traits. As a result, they made my brother and me participate in a lot of extracurricular activities which involved English. Slowly, I began to enjoy the language. My leisure time became incomplete without reading books, so I kept the habit across the years. It wasn't long before I began to attend such events voluntarily, and you could always find me hosting or performing on the stage. 

2.When did you first decide that you wanted to create digital content and how did you start? 

Even before I graduated from high school, I began teaching Spoken English. My first experience was when a neighbour asked me to train their child, who was about to start his college journey and lacked confidence and communication skills. After teaching him for a month, I noticed a significant change in his personality. Eventually, I started getting more offline students, and I started devoting more time to it. The feeling of satisfaction I get from seeing a positive change in a student is indescribable. However, it wasn't until April 2021 that I thought of reaching out to a wider audience and creating an online presence. So, as of May 2021, I began posting content, and the journey has been incredible. 

3. Is vlogging and digital content creation a financially sustainable career? 

It is. Over the next few years, I firmly believe that all non-traditional forms of careers will become the norm. By helping people learn that skill from you, you can unquestionably monetise the content you're putting up. In addition to helping you financially, it enables you to polish your confidence, personality and build a network, among other things. Taking the time to discover yourself at a young age helps you find out your passion, which ultimately has a monetary benefit. 

4. How and where do you find inspiration to churn out content? 

As with any content creator, I initially underestimated myself and wondered if anyone would ever watch my content. However, the key is to start and learn as you go. At first, I produced content based on my experience from teaching offline for approximately five years. It was apparent to me what the problems learners face and what topics they would particularly appreciate. Taking inspiration from other content creators is also very valuable! 

5. What piece of advice would you like to give to future and aspiring digital creators? 

My advice would be to try new things and explore yourself. Doing so will enable you to discover what genuinely interests you, as well as what is worth your time. Also, perfection does not exist, and I know many people claim it, but many people indeed have trouble starting because they are looking for perfection. Moreover, even if you begin, you will find it extremely difficult to maintain consistency. Therefore, explore yourself, know what you're capable of and can do well, and then start marketing yourself in your best light. As you learn, don't forget to take notes. 

6. Which is your favourite book and why? 

Among all my favourite books, Alchemist is at the top of the list. It's a book I've read multiple times! If you dare to dream, it not only gives you a new perspective on life but also reveals how capable you are of achieving all your goals and ambitions. The experience teaches you how to live your dreams and gives you the drive to achieve them. In addition, it also enhances the quality of your life in general. The first book I would recommend to anyone who wants to understand themselves better and believe in their dreams.
